Bored Tonight...Post a Diorama, LOL (4 Viewers)

Is that a K&C Hawker Typhoon? The diorama looks fantastic! Nice work Kevin!

Hi Louis

Thanks for the kind words, it is my first one so I'm quite chuffed. 2' by 4' base board, polystyrene packing, cardboard packing, balsa, matches, mod roc and household paint.

Vegetation courtesy of Mr John gittings.

The typhoon is not K&C, it is from a UK dealer, the only one I could find with rockets.

Kevin: Really nice pictures. They really inspire me and I see more vehicles I must get. Nice display. Leadmen

My sponsors were gracious enough to let me post this picture without crediting them. If you want to see the rest of the pictures from this set you will have to go to www.toysoldierschat.com under Battlefield Simulations / Battle Scene Productions. If there are negative comments on how I had to introduce this Diorama, then that will be the end of posting Dioramas on this Forum, I am trying my best to please everyone.

A rare Diorama of the Italian Theater of Operations........Firebat

Alex,

I would like to continue to see these so please keep sharing them over here.

Thanks for posting that pic Firebat, the Italian campaign is often overlooked by collectors and manufactures. I suspect the combatants in your pic didn't have time to appreciate the nice colors :)

OZ ...............I have to give you credit for suggesting the Stug. They couldn't appreciate the scenery, because someone blew up the bridge in front of them, and the Americans we coming from the other side, which left them badly exposed. Firebat

Firebat,

That is a great diorama, but I am surprised that with all that apparent distruction the street lights are still burning. I am sure stranger things than burning street lights have happened.

As usual, you have done a great job. Keep up the good work!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Haven't you heard the Italians are great electricians:D . The one closest to the explosion in the rear left is out though, and the front right is fizzling out. Actually some electrical emergencies I have responded to as a Firefighter, during devistating fires, have produced some interesting situations. Firebat

My Son Ryan { he's 12} have had this Pacific theme WW2 battle set up on the wargames table for 5-6 weeks and have yet to play with it. Our black cat gets up there and sleeps on it, thats about all the action thats taken place.
Time for it all to be put away for a while.Maybe during his Christmas Holiday break we'll have our friend over for a battle.Thought I would shoot a couple pix before we take it down.Haven't really added much to this collection except for some TSSD Marines and Japanese.I only got around to painting one of each and I added the Conte landing craft since I broke down and boguth the Omaha Beach sets. I finally repainted some Conte trench parts and bunkers but thats about it.
I found a Tamiya Chi ha, Japanese Ho Ni and a Italieri LVT a 4 at a swap meet for $10.00 each last month. Havent gotten around to building those yet either!

Fubar,

Whenever I see your dioramas I think of one thing ... fun. For me that's what drives me to making them.

I've always been impressed with the pure scale of them too. LVT's are nice too and the Conte landing crafts match in nicely.

Good job,

Carlos

I feel the same way about harold dioramas,Looks like lots of fun. Every time I see them I want to go over his house and play!!!:p Too bad I live so far away!:p

I been there twice and it was awesome. I saw Fubar's Napoleonic armies in 28mm set up. What a sight! Been back once again. Maybe a road trip starting on the East Coast and picking up us slugs has you head West. Don't want to do it in mountain snows unless I bring some crackers. Leadmen:D
