This isn't exactly, in any way, shape or form, a toy soldier but when I was a kid my Aunt got me a Bald Eagle piggy bank, from Emigrant Savings Bank in NY. They were giving them out and I always liked because it was a Bald Eagle. One of those things that are part of your childhood.

Somewhere along the way during our many moves it got lost and "that was that" I thought. Then I just happened to see one on eBay and knew I had to get it, so here it is. Not the same one but it's in fabulous condition, considering it's probably about 50 plus years old.

Great story Brad, glad you found a suitable replacement. What is different about this one when compared to the original? It appears to be in pristine condition.

Thanks Joe. It's missing the piece on the bottom that holds the coin in the bank but I didn't plan to use it as a bank anyway, just a memento.

Continuing temporarily on the Bald Eagle theme, this is a print I picked up in San Francisco many years ago, from a 1904 edition of Puck Magazine.

Well that's not bad at all. It's really nice and it must be a great feeling to essentially have it back. It's amazing that you found one after a 1/2 century! It was very well taken care of for all those years.

Thanks Joe, it is and I'm leaving it in my office for now.

Now, back to the future.... :smile2:

Thanks Martyn. It was a lucky, very lucky find. The last time I saw one was a couple of years ago. With this, I have now finished the Wild West range.
