Britain's Zulu War (5 Viewers)

Welcome back to the US of A Richard and it's nice to know you had a good trip. Have fun getting from under the paper work which I,m sure your faced with.:eek::eek:The Lt.

Hi Guys - Have had a good two weeks in Germany and UK for toy fairs. Met with Modelsone and they were over the mooon with the sales of their gloss Zulu War set - numbers are dwindling fast. I mentioned that some of you were having trouble ordering off their website - they thought their site was working fine. But thanks to you all, they did some checking and did indeed find out that there was a glitch in the system and that no international orders could be processed! It is now fixed - so if you are in need of ordering this set then you should be able to do so on their site.

Thanks!

Richard

Good to hear that. Thanks for checking it out Richard.

Glad you are back. Did you check your emails?

Richard was good enough to share the attached photos of the 1879 Zulu Dinner featuring two distinguished guest and I request permission to share them with you which he gladly granted. Richard would have posted them on his own but is buried under snow and paper work.

Ian Knight standing in front of a replica of the Regimental Colours of the 2nd Battalion 24th Foot . I'm sure by now your all aware of the figure he's admiring in his hand.

Joining Ian is the 1879 Group President Douglas Bourne the grandson of Colour-Sergeant Bourne.

The frosting on the cake would have been Ian holding the Britain's figure of Colour-Sergeant Bourne while standing along side of his grandson.

For some reason the whole scene reminds me of Mr Cunningham from 'Happy Days' or a episode from Laurel and Hardy minus the fezzes of course. Am I alone in this?

I received my Modelzone set of 2 figures today. Really, really pleased with them. There's something elegant about the 1/32 scale and the glossy paint. I'm going to add them into my Britains Rorke's Drift dio though this new CSM Bourne is head and shoulders better than Britains previous one.

But now i'm looking forward to collecting the matte range and the hospital scene.

Speaking of the matte range, does anybody have any word on the arrival date of those first 4 Zulus expected this month?

No more glossies?

OK, finally a good reason to bump this thread; The first 6 (!) matte zulus have been released according to the WB site.

hello

wbritains have confirmed that the flag bearer is being created for the last stand at isandlwana

this will go with the 2 six-man sets created awhile agoo, and will be available in the july catalogue !

the new releases have/will fit in well in my zulu war displays

:)

Oh that sounds great! I hope the last stand will be revisited as it could use a update in gloss.

Now that I come to think of it; why not create the entire scene all over including some zulu poses. Oh yeah .

And welcome to the forum markneilwade.

A number of dealers had the matte zulus at the show. Verrryyyy nice.

Any of you guys think that Zulu chicks would be cool for a Krall should let Ken know. He wanted to know if they should make married or unmarried when I suggested it.:D I thought that they would make an interesting addition to the Petticoat line. Hey .....what about the girls from Petticoat junction???

Superb news! So did you break down and buy the whole lot of them? That is my plan...actually probably 2 of each more than likely.

Apparently you've spent a little to much of your time rewinding the scene from the movie Zulu featuring the ZULU CHICKS dancing this weekend. Got a better idea my Lord General hunt up some casting and make up bunch leaving Ken free to re-enforce both my Brit's and Zulu Warriors let's not lead him astray. By the way did you add any of the new Zulus to your IMPI's while you attended the show? ........The Lt.

Unfortunately no. Slow down at work curtailed my spending:( They were matt any way. Do have an old set of Trophy on hold.
