Lt.,
Are you sure Lt. Curling had nothing to do with their demise?;):cool:
Mike

Nice clear picture LT. Certainly an enjoyment to see while I drink my first cup of coffee on this rainy morning here in south central Wisconsin.

Today i watch movie ZULU with Michael Caine.
No one wears in this movie a blue cap or beige hemlet. All of them wear white helmets. And none of the lutenant have beards, like the WBritain Figures.
And after the battle 11 man get the Victoria Cross, but i do not understand why the Colour Sergant didnt get one?
I think he was the bravest man there, true profesional,...at the end he say that they win not just with rifle but a bajonet too and some guts behind it :D:D:D you gotta love this man!!!
This si how i imagine Old British soldiers, like this Colour Sergant, funny, tough, fair, brave, good sense of humor at the right time, gentleman on battle field and out of battlefield,....I think he is the first to earn the Victoria Cross(but he didnt get it).
GO COLOUR SARGENT,i hope WBritain will give him a figure!!!

Adding a point to the above John. Bourne was only 24 years old at the time and known as the kid.

Thought the attached link will shed some light of the facts and fiction on the movie Zulu for Ales and others. http://www.rorkesdriftvc.com/zulu.htm The site provides a vast knowledge on the History of the Zulu War and the events that took place during the war.

well the best dialogues have Colour Seargant Bourne. It is not just the words, but the thing how it is said and the figure of him self with the musache an deverything,he sure is a caracter in a good way.
You upset the lads!!!!!!!:D:D:D:D:D like they didnt upset enough with the 4000 Zulu comming:D:D:D

Hitch seems to be staring up at the hills in disbelief to see which of the Zulu marksmen got off a lucky shot.

Joe...that's one of the best pictures you have ever taken...very cool.

I'll have to echo Michael's sentiments Joe. This is a really nice photograph, one of your best. I nominate it for the November calendar.
Mike

Thanks M & M and Mike don't be surprised if it makes an appearance in the November Calendar we aim to pleases. Lieutenant Chard makes his first appearance in front of the Hospital.

I see you finally picked him up Lt. He is a nice figure.

Agree Scott but wish he'd been posed firing his Martini-Henry instead of pointing. Would be nice to see him making an appearance doing so in the future but until then should it happen he'll be actively played with as follows.

010-5.jpg

well about the Chard,i like that he is pointing and not firiing because he is a commander and he give orders.
If you look at all british soldiers from WBritain (zulu series) there is no one, exep Chard who give orders and if it was not for him than it is look boring diorama without a comander.
I am very sad because Chard wearing the uniform like the ordinary soldier,no special helmet,or some golden stripes or anything lik ethat that will point him out from the others. So when i make diorama no body will know who is the comander.I know that he in reality wear that kind of uniform which make me a question how the real soldiers know in the heat of the battle who to listen.
If we look at the other comanders there always have more beautyfull looking uniform so everybody know who si the comander.
