Buford's Knoll, The Battle of Brandy Station, June 9, 1863 (1 Viewer)

Terrific display Mike, those 'live action' horse poses by JJD certainly add to the drama.

Thank you very much Louis. The officer kneeling over the map was a gift from John. The figure will be released for sale in the next couple of months . . . probably March-April time frame.

Mike
WOW, that's a nice gift Mike, I wonder if John will send me a King Tiger as I missed buying one ;)

Another well done mounted figure for the Buford's Knoll vignette arrived this afternoon. The backdrop I have used here is a WBritain Mini Backdrop #51083, "Split Rail Fence" which was also included in today's delivery.

I can never think of Buford's Knoll without remembering the Park Service visit I made to Brandy Station many summers ago. One of the preservationists told us how he gave Sam Elliott a tour of the battlefield when he was preparing to play Buford in Gettysburg. On the knoll, Sam Elliott asked him, "Where did Buford stand?"
"Well, right here, Sam. He was standing on this hill we're on."
"Bill, where did Buford stand?"
Finally, he picked a spot on the knoll, pointed to it, and said, "There, Sam. He stood there."
Sam Elliott planted his feet on the spot, savored the experience for a moment, then turned to the guy and said, "Hot d--n, Bill! Hot d--n!"

Mike has a very good sense of staging... Your dioramas are always of high quality and very realistic...
I remember the one about the buffalo hunt or ''fur trade''... great art!
I too should present one day...

Looking good, Mike!

Thanks Louis

Mike - your diorama is coming along nicely.

Brendan

Thank you very much Brendan. It's been a fun and satisfying winter project for me.

A fine bunch of figures in a wonderful back drop.
Steve

Thanks Steve. That backdrop gets a lot of positive comments. I'm getting a lot of use out of it on this project.

That's a nice looking mounted officer!

Cameron, as good as it looks in photos it's even better looking in hand. John did a great job on this one.

Thank you very much Francis. Much appreciated.

Looks great Mike, perfect blend of figs, ground and background. Well done. 🫡

THX Chris. To follow-up on our previous conversation, check out the tutorial I posted this morning on how to inexpensively make bushes/shrubs for displays.

Mike, I really can't say anything more than what was already mentioned. But you are creating some amazing eye candy! ;) (y)
