Cheers Howard

PS the good lady wife(GLW) while dusting the other week knock my Tamiya Centurion to the floor and I don't collect plastic/resin or whatever tea cups anymore also.{sm4}

....it's alright Brett mate, you boys are not alone. I think you'll find there's a few more members aligned with your 'mob' than you think.......at least in spirit anyway:wink2::tongue:^&grin

What my tanks are better than yours lol you need to grow up :wink2:

Yup, risky move trying to bend back any toy soldier no matter who the manufacturer is.

It was indeed but fortunately paid off.....but the Cats don't go in there anymore!

Come on guys lets not turn this into another thread that gets shut down.

Well said Rob ! Don't you think this thread should be in general toy soldiers instead of KC ?

Try dropping an AFV made from a different resin. Unless it is a very soft and resiliant compound (probably not suitable to make models other than childrens' toys), they will break when they hit a hard surface. Unless you actually test them, there is no telling which resin used by K&C, CS, FL, TGM, JJD or Britains is less brittle or even if their brittleness is much different.

Terry
" They will break when they hit a hard surface "....I am curious about your answer....I dont wish to start a blue...from reading some of the post's about the brittleness of some materials I wonder why the vehicle's are made from that type of resin ? ...Plastic ? ... why use that particular material if the vehicle's are going to break so easily ?....my experience with resin is not that flash...I have been fooling around with it for a bit...had no luck making figures as it is too expensive to go through all the rig-ma-roll of doing it... and... I am not that interested anyway...but....I have had reasonable success in making flat objects such as walls...building fronts etc..... I find it very strong and unless you use a hammer...unbreakable.....maybe it is the type of resin I use.?..aint got a clue on the brand name ..if something does not work then I take note of the brand name...have you any idea why some types of resin seem to be brittle?..........appreciate any knowledge on the subject...my Google searching skill is hopeless...regards TomB

Years ago when having our kitchen renovated we had our floors polished. My wife was concerned about the effect of dropping food and spilling liquids on the floorboards and was suggesting an alternate - and dearer - option for the kitchen floor.

Despite me expressly forbidding it, she articulated her growing concern to a rather bored looking tradesmen. As I stood behind her desperately shaking my head, she asked about the issue of food hitting the floor and whether more money could solve the problem.

To my everlasting joy the tradesman said -'Wouldn't it be cheaper to just avoid dropping stuff'?

Wise man that tradesman.

No, surprisingly he did not. Then again, Australian men do not tend to stand around talking about their cats.
