Chicago show 2017 (1 Viewer)

Andy, I just looked it up and it's 30 miles or a 38 minute car ride from downtown Chicago to Schaumberg. I will try to find out the cost of a fare.

It will definitely be great to meet you and I will pay for the second. I missed the Show last year so definitely going this time.

Looks like a Uber will be a little cheaper, probably around $40.

I can't believe I'm even typing this {eek3} but after 5 long months of kicking my self for getting sick on the Eve of the show last year, I picked up the phone and made my reservations for Sept 22-25 for this years show. let's try it for the 6th time in a row shall we?? sooner or later my odds have got to come up in my favor to make this journey to the Windy City for all things toy soldiers right??? right??? 7 months almost to the day..we'll see...Sammy

Mate I will see you there..................................................................................in 2018 I'm going for sure.

I just hope I can get there this year before you do in 2018!!:):) not sure what your travel plans are?? but if you can venture to the great state of Arizona in your visit next year you know you are welcomed at my humble abode, have to take you by the shop and put you to work for a few days to pay off your room, beer while you here though!!^&grin^&grin

The beer bill would be a weeks worth mate.

What about the train from Ogilvie Transportation Centre upto Arlington Heights or Mount Prospect and either a taxi from there or there is a bus. it is around 5 to 6 miles from these stops?

Andy, just wanted to add that the Woodfield mall is directly across the street from the Hyatt. Its the largest mall in the Chicagoland area.Your wife will love it.

The Ogilive Transportation Center is in the middle of downtown Chicago. Much more that 5 or 6 miles. No bus that I am aware of.

I was talking about a train FROM Ogilive to Arlington Heights, which is 5 to 5 miles and there is a bus or a taxi from there.

I will make it this year for sure. This will be my first and I am really looking forward to it.

Chicago will be a great show and the city downtown -North looks wonderful,,Be aware of your surroundings always,,

I have an idea on how to boost the attendance at ostn this year and hopefully i am not to late. Instead of doing just the after report show in the toy soldier magazine i think that they should do a two part article on the chicago show over two issues and stuart could dig out pictures from the past shows and maybe do brief interviews with people who have attended over the past 20 years. This could really peak peoples interest in attending the show which would also be great for the hobby in general.so hopefully somewhat at the toy soldier magazine will see this.

Greg, I sent your comment to Stuart :smile2:

OTSN less than 2 months away and no talk about it. Unless I missed something I know of no dealer, manufacterer or anyone else announcing a new product for the show. Hate to say it but could this be the begining of the end? Have to admit in years past I would already be counting the days, not this year. Got lucky in as much I have enough hotel points (LaQuinta) that I can stay 2 nights for free. So my cost will be gas ($60) & a few meals ($60). Can we get a roll call in regards to attendance?
Gary

I will be there in the treefrog room!
Tom

Good to know; you'll be busy in the TFT room, myself and Zach will be roaming the halls buying all the good stuff...................good luck buddy................:wink2:
