This has got be one of the best buildings going, I know I am thrilled with it, to see more veiw diorama's thread...time on my hands....Cheers, Robin.

Absolutely one of the best scenic items on the market.
I had a chance to see a diorama with the church and the priory in a store window display at the "History Store" in Chillicothe, Ohio a few weeks ago.
Very, very nice and definitely one of Conte's best works.

I REALLY HOPE that someone will come along and create another style of Church along the lines of Contes Church. There seems to be a strong desire on the part of us collectors for another type of Church. Additional size structures are needed in the 1/30 scale. A Church would be a great center piece of any diorama as we have seen above.

Almost willing, but perhaps not, had a lot of sleepless nights thinking about these 2 sets. Guessing I might have the only one in Australia which is something you cannot say very often. Plan to enjoy this one with my MG series. Cheers, Robin.

I own Playset 1 and the Church but I have still to get the priory , one day.....

So anybody who ever wants to sell the priory to the UK just shout :)

Three posts in 3 years, nice to hear from you. Very hard to find these sets, I have been trying for two years and than both at once, thanks to a forum member and EBay. The Priory dove tails into the church. Hope you are able to locate one to compliment your church. Try the wanted section of this forum, best shot. Cheers, Robin.
 
I have one of these and it is beautiful. I tried time and time again to order the playsets from Conte and they always said they were on backorder but nothing ever materialized. I got the church on eBay a few years back at a good price before they started going for several hundred dollars. Conte had other sets that had a great bridge, two story destroyed building, etc but I have never been able to get my hands on them. It's a shame Conte could have sold a lot of these pieces. I don't know if there was some issue with the supplier or other reason, but they kept us wanting more. Great dio!!!
 
Contact Conte in North Carolina.
He is having a warehouse sale at this time.
 
I have the church and play set and would sell at a reasonable price. Please PM me if interested.

I think the church is the best centerpiece out there...with the possible exception of that St. Mere Eglise church made by Nick at BSP.
 
@ Denver - I did not see any mention of this on the Conte site. I know he does the warehouse sales every now and then, but where do you find what he has up for sale?
 
hmm - I've spoken to him in the past and he even said he would let me know when stuff was restocked or he found it in the warehouse.

I have posted these elsewhere before but perhaps some of you didn't see these. These are the paint masters right after I finished the patterns for the playsets.

A fair number of these are in circulation if you are patient you should be able to find one.

Ken,

Was there ever any plans for the 'missing' rear quarter of the church? I know you rebuilt one for the MTSC showroom and added the rear and roof, but it just seemed a strange ommision.
Now I'm thinking along those lines, I think I'll have to craft out a a tereain and damaged wall section in pink / blue foam to plug the space.
