College Football 2013 (3 Viewers)

Bama v Texas A&M at 3:30 pm EST. Johnny Cam. Be there.{sm3} -- Al
This has been a real track meet. Bama up 42-35 with 4:00 left. The defensive stats are not good for either team but the real difference has been 2 interceptions thrown by Johnny Football. Bama just scored and has sealed it up 49-35. Been a fun game, unless you like defense. -- Al

Navy wins big and is 2-0. Anchors aweigh! ^&grin -- Al

Stand, Navy, out to sea, Fight our battle cry;
We'll never change our course, So vicious foe steer shy-y-y-y;
Roll out the TNT, Anchors Aweigh;
Sail on to victory, and sink their bones to Davy Jones, hooray!

Anchors Aweigh, my boys, Anchors Aweigh!
Farewell to college joys, we sail at break of day-ay-ay-ay;
Through our last night on shore, drink to the foam,
Until we meet once more, here's wishing you a happy voyage home!

Stand Navy down the field; Sails set to the sky;
We'll never change our course, So Army you steer shy-y-y-y;
Roll up the score, Navy, Anchors Aweigh;
Sail Navy down the field, And sink the Army, sink the Army Grey!

Get underway, Navy, Decks cleared for the fray;
We'll hoist true Navy Blue,So Army down your Grey-y-y-y;
Full speed ahead, Navy; Army heave to;
Furl Black and Grey and Gold, And hoist the Navy, hoist the Navy Blue!

Blue of the Seven Seas, Gold of God's great sun;
Let these our colors be Till, All of time be done-n-n-ne;
By Severn shore we learn,Navy's stern call:
Faith, courage, service true, With honor over, honor over all!

My son is happy that Bama got its revenge. His reaction was "Suck it Johnny!" ^&grin

Big week for the PAC. Oregon ripped TN. USC crushed BC. UCLA beat Nebraska at home after trailing 21-3. Looks like Washington will beat the Illini. ASU and Wisconsin will be a good game later tonight.

The end of the ASU/Wisconsin was one of the strangest ever!

Bizarre. I've never seen anything like that. The Wisconsin QB is trying to place the ball in the middle of the field for the game winning field goal with 18 seconds left, for some reason he simply places the ball on the ground instead of taking a knee, it dawns on ASU that it might be a fumble, they pick the ball up, the players stand around debating whether it is a fumble while the clock is running, the refs finally decide it's not a fumble and place the ball, before Wisconsin can snap it again the clock runs out and the game is over. ha. The Wisconsin QB must feel like an idiot.

A very impressive offensive performance by both teams. However, if Bama wants to take the title again, they may want to do something about the secondary. It was horrible. -- Al

Not many top 25 matchups this week. Time for picks:

Stanford 30 Arizona St. 24: This is the game of the week. ASU caught a huge break last week to beat Wisconsin. It won't happen again against a very good Stanford team.

Notre Dame 31 Mich St. 17 This is always a weird game for some reason. ND wins at home.

Florida 34 Tennessee 20 Both teams are in rebuilding mode. TN got blasted last week. Interesting to see how they respond.

USC 38 Utah St. 31: A lot of USC fans have circled this one as a trap game which shows you have much they are struggling. SC's D will be tested by a good Utah St. team, but I think SC has too much talent to be beaten at home. The offense came to live last week and the D has played lights out for them. Kiff saves his job for another week with a win.

I like Miami to beat Savannah State, but I do not think they will cover. The spread is currently 60 points.

And for whatever reason (meaning I do not actually have one) I think the Auburn/LSU game will be worth watching.

Hey everyone! Watching my Vols against Florida State. 17-7 at the half. Not bad against the 19thrankde team. GO VOLS!!!! Mike

Break out the cigars my Terps are 3-0 and putting a arse whipping on West Virginia right now...fear the turtle!!!!!...sammy

This is sweet! 30-0 at the half. WVa can't hold on to the ball. What a pity. Boy, UMD owes WVa several beatings. :wink2: -- Al

My bad, Miami covered the 60 and actually won by 70.

Those types of games are a disgrace. Ohio State beat some Div II team 76-0. They scored something like 50 points in the first half. I realize these smaller schools get a decent paycheck for their athletic departments, but it is not great for the sport to field those kinds of mismatches. btw: I'm a Nostradamus-like 15-1 with the picks this year! Vegas is trembling in fear. Things get tougher this week though.

This was possibly the worst weekend of college football I have ever seen. Miami, Baylor, Ohio State, etc. played cannon fodder teams. Hopefully next year’s new playoff system will alleviate some of this as strength of schedule will be among the most important factors in deciding who makes the cut.

A better slate of games this weekend. A couple of close matchups:

Georgia 30 LSU 21: Big SEC game. GA wins at home.

Oklahoma 24 Notre Dame 21: OK seems to lose every big game they play. It's tough to pick them as a winner on the road here, but I think ND has lost something on D and Tommy "turnover" Rees is good for one or two big INTs.

Alabama 42 Ole Miss 24: Ole Miss will give them a game until halftime and then it will get ugly.

Ohio St. 38 Wisconsin 30: Closer than expected but the Buckeyes will carry over some of those 76 points from last weekend and win at home.

I am interested in seeing how Cal (my wife's alma mater) does against Oregon. Not that I think that Cal will win, but they always play Oregon tough.

Great game between GA and LSU. You don't usually equate the SEC with a shootout. Tommy "turnover" Rees also lived up to his reputation with 3 INTs for ND.
