Great game between GA and LSU. You don't usually equate the SEC with a shootout. Tommy "turnover" Rees also lived up to his reputation with 3 INTs for ND.

Good call on both of those games. I also enjoyed West Virginia's upset of Oklahoma State.

The Sooners have to be a top ten team now, they are my favorite team, Michigan second, Alabama third, been that way for close to 40 years now..............

Combat will be happy to know Lane Kiffin was fired today after getting demolished yesterday and posting a 3-2 record this year.

He's lost 7 of his last 11 games.

How this guy gets plum jobs is beyond me, maybe because his wife is a total smokeshow, who knows.

The Trojans have not been the same since Pete the poodle bailed on them and went to the NFL to coach the Seachickens, who have my favorite player in the NFL, the gasbag known as Sherman, aka, "You mad Bro?".......................

Terrible call on my part about the Cal game. Cal had no business being on the same field as Oregon.

Hopefully Texas will follow USC's lead and fire Mack Brown.

Yes, Kiff has taken his $3 million and gone home. A happy day for SC fans. He was an awful coach who was too arrogant to learn from his mistakes which he repeated over and over again. The fact that even Pat Haden felt compelled to pull him off the team bus at 4AM in the morning at LAX and give him the news speaks volumes about how far things had gone. I doubt the program suddenly turns around just because he is gone but it's a good place to start. The NCAA did a real hatchet job on SC. The sanctions were a thousand times more crippling than any other matter decided since then. To this day there are many college football fans who believe SC "cheated" or "payed players." Neither of which were alleged much less a part of the NCAA ruling (which took 6 years to complete). However, schools that had multiple players receiving money were let off the hook with almost no penalty even with evidence that coaches were involved. Johnny "halftime" was suspend for 1/2 of a game after a two week investigation in which the NCAA claims they could find no evidence that he took money. This despite pictures of him holding wads of cash. The NCAA is as corrupt an institution as you can find. On a good note, I'm now 19-1 on the picks this year.

FSU 63 - MD 0, OUCH!!!! {eek3} The pretense for my Terps is over. I turned it off at 28-0. :redface2: Chris

Being a pessimist, I was afraid this would occur. It was UGLY. No redeeming aspect at all and likely to destroy whatever confidence the team ever had.:( At least we got ranked for a week. Only reason I haven't jumped off the balcony is that Navy beat Air Force, so my day wasn't a complete loss. :rolleyes2: -- Al

Al/Terp:

In all fairness FSU is really good and probably even better than their #8 ranking. To top it off, Winston is the front-runner for the Heisman. No shame in getting blown out by a team of that caliber.

Bummed out that Navy lost to Duke. Wasn't close. Navy has me a bit worried. Really surprised that Georgia lost to Mizzou. Sure didn't see that coming in any way, shape, or form.{eek3} -- Al

The Georgia upset was huge, so was UT's win over Oklahoma. For the first time in a long time I can wear my Texas gear with pride!

UMd Terps escaped by the skin of their teeth (and an errant last ditch FG attempt by UVa) to win by one point. The missed FG was pretty short range. UVa should have won but UMd probably won't give the win back.:rolleyes2: Terps are now 5-1, beating their win total from 2012. -- Al

And their only loss came against one of the best teams in the nation.

Some huge games this weekend. And the Team Nike (aka Oregon) will be wearing perhaps the ugliest uniforms in history (pink helmets and socks). The picks:

Missouri 31 Florida 20: Huge win last week for Missouri at Georgia. Maybe a letdown, but they should handle a struggling Gators team at home.

Clemson 37 Florida State 34: top five matchup. Should be a shootout.

Stanford 30 UCLA 10: a tough week to play Stanford coming off a big upset. The Bruins get rolled.

Notre Dame 27 USC 17: it pains me to pick the Irish, but they will wear out an undermanned SC team (thanks NCAA) and score late in the game to break it open.

Chris, Brown is supposed to be back at Qb. That can't hurt. -- Al

I am not a huge fan of Oregon and their constant changing styles when it comes to uniforms. However this week I think I will give them a pass considering they are doing it for National Breast Cancer Awareness month. They might be the ugliest uniforms in history, but to anyone who has survived or been touched by this horrible disease they are the most beautiful uniforms ever. Not to mention that Nike and Oregon will auction off the Ducks' pink helmets to raise money for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.

Chris, the game against WF ended up as complete a disaster as I have seen with UMd. The score was bad enough but, once, again, the team is decimated by injuries. Both of UMd's top two receiver/playmakers, Diggs and Long, were knocked out of the game with gruesome broken legs. Just unbelievable. Brown was totally ineffective and was pulled. The team is 5-2, but I fear it is all downhill from here. FSU slaughtered them and they barely slipped past UVa because Uva blew the kick, and WF may have mortally injured their chances to win again. The current situation just isn't very pretty.:( -- Al

Yeah, I turned it off at 24-3. Those injuries are unreal, I read about them this morning.

BUT, bball is about to start and I live between the #1 and #3 preseason ranked teams, UK and Louisville. :smile2: Of course UK was ranked #3 preseason last yr and didn't make the tournament. :rolleyes2: Chris
