College Football 2013 (2 Viewers)

Great game between Stanford and Oregon. Stanford has their number with that physical play. They've beaten Oregon the last two years to knock them out of the BCS championship. They must be happy at Florida St. and Ohio St.

I would think that Stanford would leave leapfrog Ohio State after last night.

How can you put a team with one loss ahead of an undefeated team, that makes no sense.

I hope that either Alabama, Florida State, Ohio State and Baylor all finish undefeated so that there are four undefeated teams, or they all lose and there are a ton of 10-1 teams as either way, the NCAA will look like fools with the continued lack of a playoff system.

It's coming next year, but that does no good this year.

Another 50/50 day for me as Navy wins but UMd loses. UMd's loss no surprise after losing their two big offensive threats a couple weeks ago. Navy sure scores points with that triple-option running game, but their defense isn't much. -- Al

Tommy "turnover" Rees sunk ND's BCS chances will a couple of big INTs. Bama keeps rolling. They could play in the NFL.

I'm on a red hot streak this year with the picks, but some tough games this week:

UCLA 38 Washington 27: The Bruins take care of business tonight at home.

Texas 41 Oklahoma State 37: Risky pick, but Texas at home pulls the upset.

Georgia 30 Auburn 21: Shocking the world with another upset pick. LOL.

USC 27 Stanford 24: Tripling down on the upsets. SC is back.

UCLA wins 41-31. Only missed your spread by 1 point and the final score was very close to your prediction. Very good. Do you play the lottery? You should.:wink2: -- Al

That was a fairly safe one this week. I will be lucky to pick the winner in any of the remaining three games. I do hope my Trojans come out fired up and upset Stanford tonight, but it's a longshot.

Some good news, finally, for UMd as they upset VaTech 27-24 in OT. UMd is now 6-4 and Bowl eligible.^&cool -- Al

Tough times for the old school programs so far. Michigan, Georgia, Nebraska, and Texas all look horrible. Mack Brown can't be long for Texas. He has fired all his assistant coaches so that leaves only him.

Game of the year between Georgia and Auburn. I feel bad for Georgia coming back only to lose on a miracle play.

Good day for the locals as Navy handles South Alabama 42-14 to raise their record to 6-4 and become Bowl eligible. And moving down south, how about the Auburn-Georgia game? That was a fun game to watch, unless you are a Bulldog fan. 4th and 18 should have been a lock for Georgia. Unfortunately, their DB's violated Defense 101 rule #1; always bat the ball DOWN, not UP.{sm2} -- Al

Good news indeed Al. Glad they exit the ACC bowl eligible. Pleased they beat VA Tech in OT as I've never been a Frank Beamer fan.
If Miss State (wife's school) would have had ANY offense they had a good chance to beat Alabama. :rolleyes2: Chris

What an ending to the Auburn-Georgia game! One of the most unbelievable pass completions of the season! Chris

My Trojans pulled off a big upset last night knocking off the #4 team Stanford. It's amazing how much better this team got when Kiffin was fired. Night and day. I can't understand a word he says, but the ragin cajin Coach Orgeron has things back on track. Big decision coming up about whether to make him the permanent head coach. The fans seem to love him.

Hi Chris. It was a good game to win. I also have never liked VaTech and feel the same about Beamer. Read where this is UMd's first win in Blacksburg since 1949, and gives UMd a 16-15 lead in the series.^&grin -- Al

Thanks for that. I will remind my nephew, a navy pilot, and VA Tech grad, next time I see him. :wink2: Chris

Stanford's two loses both came against unranked teams. The USC loss is ok, but when you look at the loss to Utah (1-6 in Pac-12 play) you can see that Stanford never was a contender for the National Championship.

Watched the Navy-San Jose State shootout last night. Navy finally won it 58-52 in 3 OT's. This game took a little over 4 hours to play and finished at 1:30 am, give or take a few minutes. Jeesh! I am beginning to really dislike the NCAA OT rules. These OT games can last forever. Also, this was another one of those games with no defense evident 99% of the time. Navy racked up 432 yards on the ground, only throwing the ball 6 times for another 46 yards = 478 total. The Navy Qb, Reynolds, rushed for 7 Td's and threw for 1, along with 240 yards on 36 carries. Pretty decent night. Meanwhile, SJS was racking up even larger offensive number with 440 through the air and another 160 on the ground = 600 total yards. 110 total points and 1078 total yards on a total of 163 offensive plays. Makes one wish for the occasional 10-7 defensive battle.:rolleyes2: This win gives the Middies a 7-4 record going into the regular season finale against Army. If Navy can win that game and their Military Bowl game, Navy will finish 9-4. Not bad for the boys from Napolis.:smile2: -- Al

It looks cold at every game today. My poor Trojans are playing a night game in Boulder, CO tonight. The temps are expected to be in the 20's. They will look like the German army in Stalingrad.
