I have not eaten in a restaurant since February...
and still won't...
but all the restaurants seem to be open and seem busy...

Me either; last time I went to a restaurant was late February...………….and I won't step foot in one until the virus burns out or a vaccine is found.

Period.

I try to eat really healthy and most restaurants don't really cater to my diet...
I cook a lot at home...
it's become a ritual to make a healthy meal every night...
still...
every once in a while I just say screw it and splurge on a meal that's too high in fat, sugar or carbs...
I do miss junk food...^&grin

Thanks Mike
We booked the drive Sunday thru Wednesday to avoid the crowds on purpose . I have to say I'm shocked that it is that busy.
The prices were still low for the rental and hotels were easy to come by and priced at off season prices. I expected it to be empty.
I'm actually familiar with Austin as I go to the Grand Prix at COA and have family that is 30 miles west of Round Rock.

I haven't been to San Antonio since before Ozzy took a leak, so we will stop for a few hours and hit the almo if it's open and if not, eat along the river walk.
And hopefully hit a certain store near there if they open. If Johns not there with his water bottle that is.:smile2:

Outside of that we plan to drive the coast and get a feel for the area and neighborhoods. I'm glad restaurants are open and hopefully stay that way.
I figured if nothing else I was going to borrow a cooler and hit a grocery store and grab lunch meat, bread ,cheese and fruit and we could eat that way.

John I like In&out a hair better than whataburger. However both are good and I wish we had them here.

I was a restaurant last week in a outside patio for pizza and drinks. The Jimmy Buffet concert is the Friday before we leave in Indianapolis and my wife and me have not missed one in 28 years. We are not going to miss this one if it still happens. I also work with the public daily and have for the last month.
The movie Risky Businesses had the quote " some times ya just gotta say what the....
That is my take on it as well.

I believe the Buffet concert for San Antonio is cancelled. I know that the concert I have tickets for has been rescheduled for April 2021. On the Margaritaville site it's showing a few dates in Florida for December but the way the numbers are rising in Florida I'm thinking those will also be pushed to 2021.

They rescheduled the show one day earlier in Indianapolis. I had the option to cancel or keep the tickets. It only takes a pandemic and social media outcry to make ticket master do the right thing for once.:p Man are they evil..

George...I'm like you...maybe i'm going overboard...but I just feel like it's an unnecessary risk to eat something that somebody else has touched...I'm a Starbuck's junkie...and I can't even stand the idea of the barista pressing a lid on my beverage that I'm going to put my lips on...and that's whether they are wearing gloves or not...I miss Starbucks...

after 3 1/2 months...I finally got a haircut last week...I wore my heavy duty N-95 mask...she wore a mask and talked right in my face the whole time about how she sterilizes her salon so thoroughly after every client...yea sure....I bet you do...:rolleyes2:

after 5 minutes in that chair...I just wanted to tell her...I don't care if it's a bad haircut or not...just hurry please...I was very uncomfortable...but got it done...

I have taken the same approach. I haven't set foot in a restaurant since this mess began, and my wife has cut my hair at home twice. With my son being high risk, I am just not taking any chances. When they come up with an effective vaccine, I'll start going out again.

you're being vigilant Louis...with your son you have to be...keep protecting your family...

I’m
In the same boat. Live with 75 year old mother and my niece who lives nearby is very immunocompromised. I’ve been ultra careful.
My only splurge is golf. Social distance on the course and then I leave. They all go to the bar at the club and hang out like nothing has changed... no thanks!

be smart Zach...don't touch their balls...^&grin

Make no mistake if I had the challenges of Louis or Zach I would not take chances. I hope both of your family's come thru healthy. My father has had a kidney transplant and is not in the best of shape. So I have stayed away from him since the outbreak. But my wife and I both have worked during the pandemic and feel we are safe enough as far as exposure goes. I take reasonable precautions and we keep our immune system up (the biggest thing imo).

Jeez! Mike never lets us have any fun!!! Hahaha

For real - re touching balls - I’m staying away from the range and don’t touch flag stick etc. I know it seems contact infection seems rare, but for me, just as easy to avoid these things

I thought the same thing, maybe I'm going overboard...…………..but sorry, I'm not taking unnecessary risks, period.

Friends of mine have gotten together a couple of times, hanging out, drinking, chairs spaced apart, but sorry, all it takes is one slip and you're screwed, I miss hanging out with them, but sorry, no can do. They are planning a July 4th party; I told them have fun.

I saw a video about some person who was infected, went out to eat with 5 friends, they sat in the middle of the room at a round table, every person at that table and the tables to their left and right got sick, it was due to the AC blowing air back and forth and him talking/laughing/whatever he was doing, so a dinner out ended up with 17 people getting the virus.

I gave up on Dunkin Donuts like you did with Starbucks; you're grabbing my cup, filling it, shaking a sweet and low, ripping it in half and dumping it into the coffee, then sticking a lid on it...……..no thanks.

I got a haircut two weeks ago, I went the first day she was open, was her second client, I was nervous the whole time, we both had masks on, but still...………...she called me last week, she's doing fine, I have another appointment scheduled in three weeks, we'll see what happens.

My girlfriend has asthma, my Mom who I check in on once a week is 88, I'm not doing anything to put either one of them at risk.

The numbers have dropped like a stone here in MA; good, let them get to 0 new infections/0 deaths and I'll go back to normal, but for now, I'll do things the way I want to, to each his own.

Just plain smart.

Just plain smart.

Like I said, we are all free to live our lives the way we want to, to each his own.

I'm really shocked there are states that don't require people out in public to wear masks, that's beyond moronic.

This virus is mostly airborne, you get it from droplets; coughing, sneezing, laughing, yelling, TALKING produce droplets.

You are going to get it from droplets that are inhaled or get in your eyes or your mouth.

Masks won't prevent that 100% but I feel safer with it on and with those around me wearing one.

Again, our number here in MA has dropped like a stone and we've been required to wear masks for over a month now, it's spiking in other states that don't require you to wear one; to me, it's not a coincidence.

You mean some of actually have hair salons that are open? MN shut that down early and have barely started re-opening. Loads of Grizzly Adams men around here, or the flip side with at home buzz cuts.
Glad I can scoop into a ponytail - if I leave my hair down at this length - holy crazy!! On the boat I need a ponytail and a baseball cap to see anything or not eat my hair.....

Good news coming out of Mayo recently with the antibody testing! Gotta say it, I have some very happy friends that have been working their tails off since Feb/March.
That faster they can test and develop, the better for everyone.

Julie

The MA numbers for Sunday just came out; 87/23..............

Holy smokes, those are the lowest numbers in three months.

But hey, REALLY good news; our governor announced any *******s who protested can get tested for FREE!!

Great, so those ****heads go to the front of the line, but I have to pay to get tested.

I'll go fire a rock through the CVS window up the street wearing my BLM teeshirt and bingo/presto/right to the front of the line...................:rolleyes2:

Concerns here as tourist season ramps up/Cape Cod/etc, etc, and we get out of state tourists, the numbers may start to climb again.

I am very glad I live in Massachusetts during this. Our government is doing a great job in my opinion.

We’ll have to see in a few weeks what the protests did, but normal daily stuff is good
