Cricket 2011-2012 (4 Viewers)

I'll try one more quote (adapted from Abraham Lincoln who got it from ther Bible) and if no one gets it, I am going to give it away.

A Wayne divided against itself cannot stand.
Jack I love it , I'll put that on my headstone.
Waynepoo.

"Who is Brad Haddin?
Get me Brad Haddin
Get me a young Brad Haddin
Who is Brad Haddin?"

I believe this has been adapted from the four stages of Alan Arkin? (Catch 22) I think your PHD is showing.....

I am prepared to be judged by God and history, but not by a man with a mere Undergraduate degree who in my presence once mis- pronounced grenadier!

I hope that wasn't the same time I was mis-pronouncing 'elite'. English is such a stupid language sometimes......

"Everyone hated me and I never received positive feedback"

Actually, as I recall you were quite popular with the students, it was your administration that couldn't stand you. Didn't you have the Teacher's Union phone number on speed dial there for a few years?

Tomorrow I am home, and when I'm not actually actively parenting my child, I'm going to be watching every ball from Perth!

Larso

India 2 down already and me in Hawaii and unable to watch! I do not wish to sound negative, but I have a nagging feeling that this might be a false dawn. A few long days ahead for the Australian team.

Ridiculous to reply to my own post Larso, but I see they are four down now!

Well from my seat in Brisbane it looks bad for India. I can't see them lasting the day.

England whitewashed them and it looks as though we might do the same. Given that Tendulkar, Dravid and Laxman may retire within a year of each other India better hope that they unearth some new talent. Rough justice perhaps for the 20/20 rubbish they have championed.

Well somethings gone very wrong. I went to the park and they were OKish at 4 - 120 odd and came back to see them bowled out with the first ball I saw for 161!

What possessed you to go to the park?

Nothing wrong mate all going to plan, what a great bowling display by the 4 quick's now we just need to bat for 2 days.....................^&grin

"What possessed you to go to the park?"

Paying attention to my son of course! (though of course we all know it wouldn't have happened if Australia was batting).

Yes - all through the weekend! I'd love to see something big from Cowan. He looks very good to me and if he gets a good score it should put paid to Phillip Hughes ever being selected again.

Test runs at the Wacca are a must on any young batsman's CV - it does sort out the men from the boys in the same way the Gabba used to before it became a bit more batsmen freindly.

Hughes will actually need to teach himself to bat from scratch - its one thing to be your own man as Matt Hayden was, but the technical deficiencies need more than tweaking. Its a case of a complete over haul or be content with Shield runs and a possible County career.

Being a West Aussie and watching him bat a lot i hope Marshy does well,he is a great batsman i just hope the selectors give him time to settle in at number 3.
If he was from NSW he would have a eternity.......................^&grin

Yes, I remember us talking about Hayden. He seemed like a God batting for Queensland, then he got his first test hundred against the Windies at Adelaide - and he looked awful! He is one who was able to address his inadequacies and go to a whole different level. There's plenty of other Australian openers I'd rate above him but he did very well against the best of the bowling at the time.

HEY, HEY DAVEY WARNER FOR P.M.

What an absolutely stunning session of batting! When he went to 95 with that boundary, I just knew he was going to go to his hundred with a six! So the equal fourth fastest hundred of all time - I'm glad I wasn't stuck in some cricket-less hotel overseas.
