Dispatches is up! (2 Viewers)

I must admit to liking the new one I like the great coat and the pose is a bit better IMO than the first. I do think it may be down to the size of the tash and the angle its photographed which may give it a stranger appearance than the other. Wasn't it recent when a discussion about the pics to the real thing highlighted the fact they always look better in person? I think, in relation to amount of double figures there are its something K&C does a couple of Monty's are out Hitlers Goering gives the collector a bit of variation.

I'm wondering why we have a new sculpt of Kaiser Wilhelm when the old one is still in stock (and frankly looks to be a better one; the new one looks like a bit of a chipmunk)
Agree. The older version just has a more Prussian militaristic look to it. The face and mustache look very accurate, not so much on the new sculpt. But, as Mitch says, it could be the photo itself. -- Al

we're darn near at 100 releases for the FW and not one American Doughboy- two Kaisers though- got that covered.

The releases for WW1 have been odd- seems like it is all centered around conference/meetings and marching. At some point- these guys did shoot at each other.

Some of the British releases were in the shooting position. Some of those are very good; I have a bunch.

As far as two Kaisers, I don't really understand that. Why two?

We could use a Pershing with a few Doughboys and a Marine or two. Maybe Pershing and his staff car with a pre-flyer Eddie Rickenbacker as his driver.;) -- Al

I agree- just seems like this batch, as well as the "Farewell" batch sort of regressed.

Either way, I am not buying them as I am spread too thin anyway- just an observation.

To me WW1 is not WW1 unless there are French in their blue long coats and adrian helmets. Guess that all stems from watching the movie Paths of Glory.

Could be the original is about to retire, other early German figures have already gone.

excellent movie.

We have had Scots fighting defensively, 1914 Germans fighting, German cavalry charging, 1917 English attacking, 1917 Germans defending, 1917 Australians fighting, and 1917 Turks fighting. I'd say thats actually quite alot of shooting.

We could spend hours talking about why K&C does what they do, but who knows but Andy? I don't get it, at all. Will the 262 need that ladder? The fact that its in every pic might be a clue. To be honest, its hard to compare K&C's aircraft when HM and corgi really do a good job on prices that are alot less, seems like you pay for the polystone more than anything. The HM and Corgis have excellent detail, more working parts, better design and paint, and just a better aircraft at way less the price- anyway, just my opinion, worth what you paid for it.

dmlo701..

Nice to have you on board. Not every pic has the support under the 262 Andy has released some recent pics without it and, its asthetic purposes not support.

Have to say that I am not too bothered about moving parts on these sets as they are display models.

I believe Andy has answered that question -- it doesn't need it -- and with all due respect I'd rather have the poly version. I'm sure we all have our favorites, however :)

Welcome to the forum dmlo701, good to have you on board.

I agree Mitch, I like the fact the props go round and maybe the hood slides back, but these are display models and if I played with them too much I'd probably break them anyway!.

What , you didn't get the version with the real engine? ;)

i have the first one, so ill pass on this. No space for another spit at this time....need it for my me262 that i have on order......... Also who knows what's coming in the future....

carpe diem......

For those who looked for the Spit on our website yesterday (and didn't see it), we were confirming the number we'd get from K&C before making that page active. It is now listed on the site.

Jazzeum...

No arguments from me but, I think, sadly, this is a sign of the times. I fear for the price of the Jagdtiger if this is the price for this set
Mitch

Not much interest in the current dispatches with the exception of the Me262....With K/C prices "constantly" rising for WWII AFV's:(... and with only "minimal improvement" in detail.....It will be necessary to carefully scrutinize AFV products released by K/C....Hopefully the Jagdtiger will be "worth it"....We shall see

Interesting Post....(Will need to check this out)......It would seem that larger 1:30 scale WWII aircraft will have to be made of Resin/Plastic molds in order to be affordable and feasible....otherwise Fighter planes will be the limit for most K/C Aircraft

What extra detail are we expecting? I am no defender of manufacturers but, I see this comment about minimal detail increase and yes, the prices have gone up and nobody likes that but, to advance the debate further than what some could see as a dig (an assumption rightly or wrongly which, I am not implying) could we have some examples.

For me, the biggest issue has been wheel bases on AFV's but, IMO this has improved a good bit more than minimal over the past few years. Do we want opening hatches, and the like?

I hope this request does not turn into a debate where some make it an argument for no reason I am just interested in what kind of detail for the money one expects
