Dispatches pictures coming through! (1 Viewer)

Great to see the Aussie items.

I can see the French in Egypt being very popular and will fit in with a lot of dio items. Also like the SOE.

Note if you have not already that the Winter Armoured Car is a limited production of 400 and will be available mid March.

Thunderbolt is a run of 500.

Regards
Brett

Now off home to feed the children.

< tips the barrel up and shakes it > still no alamo ...does this mean the series is finished?

Many thanks as usual for your efforts Rob :) or should I call you Mr. Dispatches? :p

I think Napoleonic collectors will or should be pleased as should our Australian mates, not to mention Glossy collectors. The Sikhs look very well done and look forward to adding them in gloss. The P 47 looks nice but room is a problem so may have to pass on that one but looks like a standout.

Very well done Andy :)

Definitely one of the more interesting dispatches. I thought there would be fighting Italians and Aussies to go along with the new tank. I was starting to rethink it given the small production runs of the tank, glad for those that have been clamoring for Italians that Andy chose to go there.

Lots of people predicted Sons of Empire. Happy for those who were waiting for them as well. Will there be fighting poses for this line?

Napoleon in Egypt is brilliant. Seems like a way to get Nap collectors to pick up Desert Village pieces, and maybe vice versa. Will be interesting to see if the next round of Egyptian Naps will have fighting poses. In the meantime, more evidence that K&C produced the best camels in the business.

Overall...this has really been quite a year for the desert. EA, AK, French Foreign Legion and Italians, Napoleon in Egypt, Camel riding Saracens, Ancient Egyptians...all that warm climate stuff coming out in winter is like toy soldier's equivalent of the swimsuit issue:)

The piece I'm giving most consideration to is the P-47. Really on the fence about it, though. Mostly because of the price and size, and also because the colors seem, well, garish. It's the kind of piece I'd like to see in person.

That Crusader tank retiring is a shame, one of the few affordable tanks left (although it was more affordable before the retro price increase). Bums me out that the one time a year there's a show near me (The Westcoaster), I'm going to be out of town:(

I have to give Andy credit for creativity in the past few months' releases. Whatever you think of the Kaiser's Staffwagon it's certainly a bold step in a new direction, and I think you see that in many of this month's releases as well. The safe choices are always DDay, Bulge, Naps in Europe etc. Nothing wrong with those at all, it's nice to see K&C surprise us. And we're not even a quarter of the way into the New Year.

You're very welcome Brad, happy to help. Was another great series of releases and I wish I could afford SOE as well as WW2 as they look very nice.

Mr Dispatches:wink2::salute::

The triple cross. 3 "must have" ranges all in one dispatch The Italian tank and soldiers; Napoleon in Egypt and Sons of the Empire in the Khyber. In all the years I have been collecting, this is the first Dispatches where I can't cherry pick from additions to the ranges I collect. They are so good this month, I have to get all of them  Nothing more to say.

Terry

I think this must be the most colorful dispatches I have ever seen- the saracens, Naps in Egypt, SOTE. All very very colorful.

Couple nice scenic pieces I may/may not snag. The "interpreter" or whomever the local Egyptian in the Naps Egypt line is could work with many different lines. I will probably get him some day.

Any reason the camel carrying Napoleon looks so angry?? ^&grin

Didn't Napoleon suffer from incontinence?. That could be one reason the Camels 'have the hump':wink2:

You gotta love that new plane, I'm just checking to see where I can put it, yep if I just throw out that wedding photo it should fit just nicely there....I'm sure the wife won't mind....:wink2:

Good month, the Italians and Sons of Empire have been a long time comming, glad they are finally here. As far as the Napoleon in Egypt series, all I can say is WOW. I have finally decided to start dipping my toes in Naps, not much, just a figure here and there every once in a while, but as a recent Nap convert this is certainly serrendipitous! Cant wait to see where this range goes!

Sons of the empire just make this dispatches superb. Doing them also in gloss is a great idea Fantastic sculpts and, a brilliant range IMO.

Pretty amazing Dispatches this month. I don't collect Napoleonics, but I have always been interested in the Egyptian aspect. The new figures for this line are fantastic. Also, the SOE are going to have to be bought, in gloss. I love the fact that KC is offering the option as the NWF collection I own is all gloss with the KC exceptions. I prefer gloss for these figures. They will look great. Finally, the spectacular looking Jug. The P-47 was a beast and this looks to fit the bill quite well. Great color scheme and the fact that it is a razorback just seals it for me. Things are getting tough around here.^&grin -- Al

I've seen photos of German paras using Italian armour in Tunisia and also on Sicily and on mainland Italy but I doubt the Afrika Korps used M13s in Libya and Egypt.

They probably did not. According to the Encyclopedia of German Tanks of World War Two by Peter Chamberlain and Hilary Doyle, 22 M13/40 were confiscated from Italian Army and issued as PzKpfw M13/40 735(i) to 2 SS SturmGeschütz detachments and to Panzerabteilung Adria, mostly in Northern Italy to fight partisans. I have not heard of any Italian M13/40 being formally taken into Afrika Korps units in North Afrika.

Can you guys help me out- I am not sure if there is something wrong with my browser yet I did not see a Modern US Army Bradley IFV in this month's dispatches- I see all sorts of other items yet nothing modern- is there something wrong with my PC? ^&grin:tongue:^&grin

The basic P-47 rendition looks great but rather put off by the cowling paint scheme. Just a bit gaudy for me and no individual markings. Too bad, as I was looking fwd to this release. Also, still no new Brit cavalry in the Naps range. :rolleyes2:

I wouldn't write it off just yet- dispatches are not always the final product, could see it in the flesh and really like it.

Re: Dispatches pictures coming through! (P-47 Thunderbolt Squadron correction)

From the March Dispatches...
"3. WESTCOASTER SNEAK PEEK

At this year’s WestCoaster from 4-6 March we will be previewing our latest K&C Warbird The P-47 Thunderbolt which will be available this MAY So, we thought it’s only fair to share it with you guys!

AF012 The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt
This is the biggest and heaviest K&C Warbird yet which is only fair because that’s exactly what the Jug was in real life the biggest, heaviest and meanest single engine fighter plane of WW2.

Our K&C model belongs to the 6th. Emergency Rescue Squadron of the 8th. Air Force and was based at RAF Bases in Southern England. As with all Allied aircraft during and just after D.Day it sports the highly visible black and white invasion stripes.

It comes with gear fixed down and pilot in the cockpit. Its colourful markings make it a great and historic addition to any aircraft collection.

Please note just 500 are being produced!"

The P-47 is a great looking warbird but for the sake of historical accuracy and I am sure it was just a typo, here are the correct Squadron logistics as she was part of the 5th ERS and not the 6th ERS as listed in the dispatches. Enjoy the photo too.

"Originally designated as Detachment B of the 65th Fighter Wing, the 5th Emergency Rescue Squadron was activated at Boxted in May 1944. The squadron's mission was to perform air/sea rescue missions with war weary P-47 Thunderbolts transferred from other fighter groups.

The squadron's fuselage code was "5F".

The aircraft were modified to carry dinghies, marker buoys and flares on their bomb racks. The mission of the unit was to locate pilots who had bailed out over the North Sea and would drop liferafts and inform sea-based rescue units who would then pick up the pilots.

The unit moved to RAF Halesworth in January 1945."

Check Six,
Marc
