I'm just wondering do members have a room in there house just for playing with there soldiers ,or is it the loft /kitchen tables when the wife out ;)
I've just built a big extension on my house & have a room for my soldiers & paintings but will need to us the loft as well :D

I converted the garage into a paint room come workshop but, we also have a potters wheel in there and loads of craft stuff which, is my wifes. Have one room for collectables and, one for my books. The wife is more than fine for stuff in the living room but, I am the one who does not like to bring it in.

The loft has not been fully converted yet as we have only been in three years and have just about finished landscaping the rear and front garden. Its on the horizon though.

Hi UKSubs,

I am very fortunate to have a fairly large finished display room built in my basement. In it are located a number of curio cabinets, my computer desk w/computer, and a file cabinet. In addition, I have track lighting installed in the ceiling to help enhance the displays in my curios. As you might imagine I spend endless hours in this room and I am thrilled when anyone wants to enter it to view my collection. For me, the room is a dream come true.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

Hi UKSubs,

My collection is quite diverse and includes Napoleonics, WWII, ACW, Zulu Wars, Alamo, Boxer Rebellion, Connoisseur Medieval Knights, Vintage figures by Britains, JoHillCo, Crescent, Minikins, etc., and a mixture of other eras and manufacturers.

The largest collection I have on display is my Delhi Durbar collection (Beau Geste, Britains, Hocker, and Marlborough). In addition, I have shelves entirely devoted to Monarch Regalia Samurai figures and K&C Ancient Egyptians.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

Hi UKSubs,

I collected toy soldiers as a child. When I entered college, married, had a family, etc., my collecting came to a complete halt. However, as my family matured, I found I could return to collecting. Since returning to the hobby, I have collected figures for 20+ years.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

Yep got a spare bedroom upstairs which is my allocated toy soldier display room, however having to fight off constant attempts from my wife to turn it into her gym room!!!!:D

Pat: Where do your store your boxes? You do have the ideal setup and a very extensive collection.

I am fortunate to live alone. In consequence the house is a cross between a museum, library and workshop. Books and militaria on every wall, large desk to work at, shed for casting and moulding and no one to moan about the mess or to tidy things away to where they will never be found.

Beautiful collection you have. If I may ask, what is the M1911 (A1?) that you have mounted. Your books and firearms are most impressive. -- Al

When I bought my new town house, I was suppose to have display rights in the living room. That changed however. I now have one of the spare bedrooms as my toy room, which actually has worked out very well. The only collectibles I am allowed to display in the rest of the house are my Troiani and Gallon Civil War prints.

Hi Tommy,

Only one half of my basement is finished. The finished portion of the basement is my display room. The other half is a storage area. I have many shelves in the unfinished portion of the basement on which I store my boxes. I also have a dehumidifier running full time to keep the humidity at a lower level. It is a great place to enjoy the hobby. You should visit sometime. After all, my place is only a day's drive from Sulphur Springs.;)

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

Acording to my wife the way I'm headed I'll be living alone soon!:) I can't help thinking how much extra space I'll have though:D

Martin.

P.S. aparently it's me that has to go:eek:

trooper,

I like that "antenna" on your "telly". Does it pick up Country Western stations and Rupert Murdock? :D;):D
