Fear The Walking Dead (1 Viewer)

Yet another show about stupid people doing stupid things. Where is governor Jerry "Moonbeam" Brown's Public Service Announcemen warning everybody about the virus which is obviously caused by "Climate Change" and is a vast right wing conspiracy and the only way to deal with it is to raise taxes, take everyone's guns away and install zombie - identity restrooms in all public buildings. :rolleyes2:

This show is maintaining my interest but that drug-addict kid is is annoying. I like how the whole family has degrees of disbelief, not quite seeing the danger as it gradually builds. They continue to see the evidence but don't quite get it. Dad is going to have to toughen up and get over his aversion to guns or he's on the brunch menu. Mom seems tough enough, but not the daughter. How many of them will survive to carry the story? -- Al

completely agree wih you

for those who wants more action, see Z Nation ( already season II )

I come in Peace
Now the Z can say : We come in Pieces
:smile2:

Why, always with the drama. If I was in the Zombie Apocowhatever, I would not have any women in my group..They are always shown walking up to an obviously infected person, because they care, and just having to touch them..Really! Michael

But then they go mad dog crazy and beat them to death with a fire extinguisher. How about a mom that can murder the school principal after stealing drugs from your school and repeatedly run over your best friend? btw: if your neighbors are putting up a bouncy house in the midst of the zombie invasion they aren't going to make it. Even if you halfheartedly let them in on it being a bad idea. It's their kids' birthday for crying out loud!

It's really hard to predict how the end of civilization is going to effect some people.:wink2: -- Al

On the upside, we now know that traffic in LA will be no worse during the apocalypse than it is on any ordinary workday. Gridlock. If you were evacuating an entire city, though, couldn't you open up the inbound highways to outbound traffic and double the capacity instead of having everyone gridlocked on one road while the other side is empty? In Russia, if people get tired of waiting in traffic they simply start driving down the wrong side of the road on their own initiative or on the sidewalks. Americans would sit in place until they were eaten by zombie hordes.

So far, I am a little underwhelmed by the script, so far..At least in Walking Dead, there is an element of " what's going to happen ,now" whereas this show, we can figure it out 25 minutes in advance. Michael

Gridlock is Washington DC's middle name. The evacuation plans are a regional joke. All it takes is a little rain or snow to completely lock up the road system. Can't imagine how bad it would be in the case of a real emergency like a zombie apocalypse. The short answer is 'everybody dies', aka, spam in a can. ^&grin -- Al

Ain't that the truth; sorry, of all the areas I travel to regarding shows, DC is the absolute worst.

Got onto the 495 loop Friday at 2:15Pm and arrived at Annandale at 3:50PM, that's about an hour and a half to drive a whopping 20 miles.

On the way home Sunday morning, the ride back took twenty minutes.

Oh and thank Christ I stayed over Saturday night as there was an accident on the loop Saturday afternoon, I heard it was a parking lot as a result.........................

George, I'd apologize for our traffic but it sounds like you were lucky, hitting 495 between rush hours (a subtle break, to be sure) and going to Annandale from 95-S is actually the shortest section of travel you can have on 495 (the other direction is much worse), so I'll just say I'm glad you only had to suffer for 90 minutes.:rolleyes2: I hope your show was a success and the drive was worth it. :smile2: -- Al

I was in DC on 9/11 and can tell you in a real emergency no one is getting out of that city by road. I could have walked on the cars in any direction and never touched the ground. A colossal mistake to dismiss the federal workers all at one time. And traffic has only gotten worse since then. A big reason that I left that area.

I like the line "you know how I feel about guns." This just after being saved from being eaten by a shot gun blast to a Zombie. Next time, save the shells. :wink2: Chris

I'm with you mate, it's all a little too predicable thus far. The scene with the bloke chewing on the Alsatian dog was a joke, what nut job tries to 'engage' with anyone doing that. I did like the Asian female zombie next door though, she was good.

As for the druggie dude, he needs to go soon or harden up before he drags his family into being someones lunch.

There is a degree of predictability to the show but the writers are working with a story that we already know the ultimate punch line to. Sort of like Custer's Last Stand, it is an interesting ride getting there but you know how it ends. I'm sure we will see the evolution from unbelieving suburbanites to hard-core zombie killers (for those that don't make the lunch menu) as the show progresses. I'm waiting for the inevitable appearance of Celebrity Zombie, like a Kardasian or Oprah. :wink2: -- Al

After the first season of TWD I stopped watching it.When the second season stated I had no interest and then almost through the second season my cousin told me that is was really good and getting better and better and I got back into it.I feel the same way with this show that it will get better and better. As far as not liking the characters that's real life. Some will do what needs to be done, some will be weak and not make it,some will be *******s.You've got to realize these people don't know what's really going on.They are in disbelief and confused and probably think the government will take care of everything. You can't have the penultimate episode of the series in the first half dozen.

It sometimes takes a while for TV characters to gel. The show benefits from its association with TWD but it's somewhat unfair to compare the two since we are much further down the road there. With that said some of the writing and characters have been underwhelming and more indicative of mainstream TV idiocy. I'll still watch though since I'm a sucker for almost anything horror related.

What is wrong with this first seasn of FTWD vs WD was that the scripts were far superior, had far better acting and a surprise or two, right away in WD. Just because we are WD heads does not mean you can take advantage of our loyalty. FTWD numbers are already down and there is much grumbling on the fan sites..Michael

From what I remember I don't see the first WD's being that much superior to FWD's first episodes.I think if there was no WD for people to compare with you wouldn't here as much grumbling.FWD really doesn't have a chance right now as it is compared to a great show.WD didn't have this problem when it started out.

I probably sound a bit negative, but I am enjoying the series, but it needs to mix things up a bit and add some twists. We all know the formula based upon the WD series, so for this series to stand out it needs to be a little different and not so predicable otherwise fans will quickly get bored.

It seems like it is taking a lot longer to get to the zombie takeover in this series. I seem to recall things going downhill pretty fast in TWD. Maybe that is a reflection of urban vs rural setting but you might think the number of zombies in an urban setting would increase pretty quickly instead of this slow burn situation. One downside to WD, however, is they have largely ignored the role the government/military would play in a situation like that. It has basically been every man for himself from the start. At least in FWD they are giving some lip service to the military helping out. Alternatively, I'm overthinking a series about zombies and should just enjoy it for what it is. LOL.

I am enjoying this series, I think for me the element of surprise is the expected not happening.
