Figarti Chicago Show Pictures (4 Viewers)

N-P

Unfortunately, I wasn't at the show. Steven Chong said the ETO P38 version at the show was a prototype and wasn't complete (decals, paint, etc.) yet and it doesn't have a release date yet.

Carlos

Cheers Forum Squadron members,

Here are some more pictures of the ETO prototype with missing rockets per Rick and some insignia too. These photos are more than likely very similar to others posted but I thought you would enjoy them all the same.

Back To Base,
Marc

You know what I really like about armor or any other vehicle types with opening hatches, doors, etc.?

Craftmenship, attention to details, wow factor and ability to use tanker figures from all kinds manufacturers (King & Country, Honour Bound, Figarti, CSC, etc.) to suite many different diorama scenes.

In some industry segments that might be referred to as "investment protection" but I like to call it FUN!

LOL,

Carlos

Cheers Squadron Forum members,

Some more Tigers & Horses for your viewing pleasure.

Enjoy,

this is great news brad! What a nice surprise too. I really had no idea figarti was going to continue developing the bloody tarawa range. I'm really looking forward to these new figures now. The japanese soldier you described w/ the glasses sounds fantastic! I'm looking forward to seeing the figure and adding it to my collection w/ the others! Thanks again for all of your reports from the show.:) it's such an exciting time to collect!

during the figarti launch, rick said that the pacific range is pretty much matt at hobbybunker's baby. And matt said there is a lot to come

Speaking of "Wake" and the Pacific, here you go...Matt did some solid research on the artillery piece and building which turned out beautifully. Thankfully, I do not collect the Pacific Theatre other than aircraft/aircrew or I would be in trouble as the releases are really great!

Marc, Great pics and really fun captions!!! I really enjoyed them! It must have been an incredible rush to experience the Figarti event in person. Thanks for sharing the experience w/ the rest of us toy soldier maniacs!

Got my Figarti Tiger I. It arrived in perfect condition with no damages. (Sorry no pics yet....I just moved and have very little time, but I'll post pics when I can). The tank is beautiful. As discussed earlier in this thread, I don't mind the effect of purely driven snow on the tracks, wheel and under carriage; I think it looks quite nice and gives this Tiger a unique look. However, some of the weathering on the hull and turret was hastily applied. The brush strokes are very apparent and are harsh in some areas. More care should have been taken to "soften these edges". But that really is my only complaint. She's a keeper even though I'm not too pleased with the somewhat sloppily applied final weathering layer. The full figure that came with the tank is outstanding, btw. I also received one of the new Wake Is. sets, WIA-002, the Browning MG Team, It is exceptionally well done. I was disappointed though that the set arrived with the water line snapped off the gun barrel. There was also a kink in the water line which will have to be repainted once I unpack my paints and supplies and make time for the repair. It's not a major repair, but nonetheless, for $99.00, it should be perfect. I decided just to keep it the set, because sometimes returns are even more hassle than they are worth. (I should mention that returns are never a headache with our hosts).

Thanks for the update on the weathering. Its my concern also. Do you plan on smoothing out the heavy brush strokes?? I think, it will be a neccesary for me to sort this out. Shame it was not done right at the outset.

Mitch,
For now I will leave it be and see how it sits with me for a spell. But I think it's very likely that I will end up trying to feather in the harsh brush strokes. I'm most apprehensive because I don't want to make it worse, and it is such a stunning piece overall. However, if I was as skilled as some folks around here, I wouldn't give it second thought, and I would have at it right away. Lastly, even though I would be making an attempt to make the weathering appear more realistic, it could be defined as a modification I suppose, lessening the resale value of the piece should I decide to sell it somewhere down the line in one of my "out with the old, in with the new, I'm running out of space cycles".

What happen to the Trojan Horse? What is the status of it?
Mark

To my knowledge it never did. This was to be issued under a partnership between AeroArt and Figarti called Marco Polo and except for the Civil War figures, nothing was ever issued. I asked Thor (of AeroArt) about it once but he had no developments.

When you go to the AeroArt website and click on Marco Polo, nothing shows up. It has been that way for several years.

I doubt this will be ever issued.
