Something like this would be most welcome for First legion Winter Stalingrad:wink2:

Sorry, but "Panthers" did not debut till summer of '43 (KURSK).

Beautiful looking tank, one day (soon hopefully) we will have Tigers and Panthers on our Pre-order list and that will be a glorious day!!...Sammy

This is an early Ausf.A manufactured between the beginning of September 1943 and early December 1943. It still features the letterbox hull MG port rather than the later Kugelblende (ball mount). Cherkassy-Korsun (the little Stalingrad) sounds like a good idea to me

The weathering on this particular winter panther photo is fantastic and what I would like to see in 1:30 scale....Very realistic...I think First Legion could produce this effect in their Winter AFV's....They definitely are capable of this with their painting expertise and resin model detailing.

That is one impressive model. I think FL has a lot of other AFVs on thier list of future releases, but if they did move into a later war series, a Panther like this should certainly be a part of it!

...............................................................................................This also would be bad idea in 1:30 scale for Stalingrad:wink2:

your tigers and your panthers if ever done, would be very expensive most collectors could only watch and admire from the side lines. If FL consider a panzer III a large AFV which, I have heard them say then panthers and tigers are enourmous in comparison.

Stalingrad had no, what I call large or iconic panzers, so, no chance for that theatre and, the north afrika had only the Tiger 1.

Neat model, but wouldn't be historically correct if one is a rivet counter. Panthers first hit the battlefield at Kursk, in July '43, long after Stalingrad was done.:wink2: -- Al

Mitch, We could just call it an Eastern Front AFV:wink2:released as an extension of the Stalingrad Range.....If FL can release Tigers and Panthers with a level of detail/weathering such as these 1:35 scale models.... and keeps prices "within reason" and competitive other "overpriced products".....FL may have more buyers then we think.....most collectors are exspecting "better" for the hi -end pricing which seems to abound lately....The question is: Is the price "Justifiable" for the product being offerred????...I would rather purchase a better product and.... own less.... then own more of what I don't really want (and still pricey besides).........Time will tell and price points will be esatablished according to quality of product and sales feasibility. It would be good to see 1:30th scale models made with this level of detail....seems to fit the FL style if they can pull it off.....Best Frank

Vezzolf...

I just see many people complaining about price and it just made me wonder what the FL price would be for a panther or Tiger 1. I would, looking at the panzer III which, was off good detail have to expect them to be around £500 if the Panzer III in the uk is £260. Can this be justified??? a lot of people moaned about the gold edition costs of the HB tigers etc and, they were superb but, not many were sold. Its all down to what FL would charge if, or when, they do go down this road.

I would not venture to guess at a price...since that would be all conjecture on our parts...We will just have to wait and see...But one thing is for sure, if FL does decide to do a Winter Panther or Tiger.... It will be a "good one" ; unlike anything prior...And one that I and other FL collectors will surely consider buying....Quality and realism of my collection rules over quantity.

Tigers and Panthers at Stalingrad is way beyond rivet counting {sm3}

So far FL has held their price for all of their AFVs at $300 and provided good detail and painting (but I still think the colours are too light :wink2:)

To get the extra detailed weathering would up the painting cost and to do a large tank like a Tiger or Panther would also cost more. I could only guess the cost at $400-$500.

I don't collect FL yet - I'm going to with the release of the Romans.

I love the FL images of AFVs especially those posted by Frank.

Given the $ involved in buying, I have a question and I'm hoping someone will answer - are FL AFVs make of die-cast metal or "plastic"?

Thanks for any advice.

If they could keep costs of a Winter Panther or Tiger Tank at $375-$425 or so as a limited run...with the detail and painting of the Panzer III.....I think most guys would go for it..... and it would be... "Well Worth It".{sm4}... IMO

Hard Resin with good medium weight and very detailed.....Get the grey PanzerIII with the tank riders...You won't regret it:wink2:...VERY well done....Well worth it....Best Tank I own...My personal favorite.
