Thanks Robin. Probably I have too many figures. If we go back to live in the UK the shipping costs are going to be a killer.

Gary

Easy solution Gary, just stay in NZ, there are worse places to be.^&grin. Robin.
Like the Spaniards, really colourful. This is an era I am not very familiar with, but I can see some big battle scenes given the countries involved.

You have a wonderful and varied collection. Thanks for the photos.

Its Italy this time. A German Luftwaffe ground crew have been called out to fix and italian torpedo bomber which crash landed in southern Italy in around 1942. The crew must be asleep after too much red wine in the local village. Typically leaving the hard work to their northern allies.

A Spanish town in 1937. Nationalist forces supported by the Condor Legion are smashing through brave but doomed Government forces.

Ah. did a stint for several months in Samoa with some Aussie contractors. Great crack and they took this pom/Kiwi under their wings - but I couldn't keep up with he drinking!

The Spanish Civil War has limited coverage. I have been fascinated by the conflict since reading 'As I walked out one midsummers morning' as a child. Only John Jenkins and Kronprinz cover this period.

Sunset on the Aztec empire

Cortez and his conquistadors together with Tlaxcalan allies storm a temple complex in modern day Mexico. Out gunned and militarily naive tactics spell the end of this proud, extensive but brutal central American empire. The riches from New Spain fill the coffers and for a while Spain is the dominant European force.

Love the Aztec and Spanish Civil War set-ups you have made. You make me want to dabble in those as well.

Nile patrol

Mid 1880's and the Mahdists are in charge of the Sudan. A camel patrol sweeps down the Nile towards the Egyptian border looking for trouble! A local Arab dhow keeps to the far bank. Safe for now.

Mid Devon 1645 and the small village of Crediton 10 miles north of Exeter - South West England. King Charles I had moved his queen to the Royalist stronghold of the the ancient Roman city of Exeter. She gave birth to his last child princess Henrietta in this fair city before escaping to exile in France. The Parliamentarian forces are gaining ground and while his queen and her child are held up in the city they prepare to lay siege. They first take the village of Crediton and use this as their base to lay the siege.

Royalist dragoons stationed in the village, while putting up a stiff defence, are driven out by Roundhead cavalry. Exeter survived the siege and held out until the end of the war. While Crediton remained in Parliamentarian hands until hostilities ended in 1646.

Really like the JU88, a lovely example. The TG Foriegn Legion is a good series as well to display. You have been busy over this Festive period Gary. Robin.

Thanks Robin. Yep my wife and I have had a relatively quiet holiday season at our weekend residence in the country, although two parties in the last couple of days livened things up a bit. Some hot afternoons and a few cold beers on the back deck creating some dioramas made for a very enjoyable time. Unfortunately back to the capital this evening and our CBD apartment which is bereft of toy soldiers! And then work tomorrow to earn more toy soldier vouchers!

Still on the upside its a short week.

Cheers

Gary
