Gary's collection (1 Viewer)

The Greeks in their battle formation really look amazing !

Great photos Gary and like you and Robin the TS fund is not a bottomless pit and with K&C promising some great releases in their Vietnam range next year, I really have to put a curb on all the different lines I've been collecting.

Anyway always great to see your photos of your dramatic dioramas !

Seasons greetings !

Steve

Well it's been a relaxing holidays so far. Our small weekend town of only 2,000 people has two toy soldier manufactures and now a third is starting up in the new year. Don't get too excited as he is starting off with 40mm figures. Then in the next small town I found a military book shop full of secondhand goodies and a small cabinet tucked away in the corner selling - you guessed it toy soldiers. How lucky I am in my small corner of New Zealand to have such riches.

I went to the local arty cinema to see "they shall not grow old" by Peter Jackson yesterday. I was inspired to bring together some of my WW1 shots and am currently penning a magazine article to go with them.

Enjoy

Gary

Well you certainly have pulled out all stops for this lot. A film can do this. Waiting to get this on DVD when it is released. Such a diverse collection you have Gary. You struck Gold finding that shop, no doubt the owner will be keen to re-stock after your visit. You have embraced WW1 with a passion with so much I have never seen before and would only be the tip of the iceberg that you have, for sure. I will need to go over the photos a number of times to take every thing in. Happy New Year to you. Robin.

Thanks Robin you are a gent. Yep there is more WW1 items on the shelves with many more planes. Have you seen what JJD is proposing with the Roman and Carthaginian galleys?

Go well my friend in 2019. I am off out for lunch with friends in Welly tomorrow and a visit to Te Papa (national museum) for the Chinese terracotta warrior exhibition. The museum shop is currently selling a 1/30 painted metal Captain Cook 9 figure set including marines. It seems the joy of toy soldier collecting never stops!

What an amazing collection you have Gary and as we know you don't just concentrate on one or two periods in history.

Love seeing all these photos. Well done indeed {bravo}}:salute:::salute:::salute::

Thanks Steve. Happy New Year to you.

That Cook set sounds interesting, hope you can post some pictures. Cannot follow John with his beautiful ships due to space and lack of funds. My Roman Conte gallery will tide me over instead.^&grin, Robin.

A belated Happy New Year to all!

I am focusing on two major articles (well long anyway) over the coming months. 'The Complete Roman Army' and 'Age of Napoleon'. Anywy the first Napoleonic shots started at the weekend. I thought I would share a few,

Gary
