Gordon Cairns Neilson, (1952-2020) (1 Viewer)

My condolences mate I always wanted a trip to HK to meet Gordon and pick his brains over the master pieces he has created he got me interested in the other side of our hobby the diorama.
Will raise a glass of a fine Scotch whisky I only drink on special occasions this being one to celebrate your brothers life and achievements.

Andy,
It is with deepest regret that I read of your brother, Gordon's passing. I remember years ago meeting the two of you at Chicago when my diorama days were in their infancy. You were both very gracious with your time in discussing the making of dioramas. I have lived by a comment Gordon made to me back then: "Always add elevation to your diorama."
Andy, may you find the peace that you need.

Steve

Andy:

Echoing the sentiments of other members, please accept our family's deepest condolences.

I had the absolute pleasure of chatting with Gordon on multiple occasions at the Westcoaster and at the K&C meet and greets at Sierra. I remember him as a talented and gregarious person. On top of that he was incredibly humble, despite his immense talents. His dioramas were amazing, breathtaking and groundbreaking, those that have seen them know how they were all too often beyond superlatives.

The toy soldier world has lost one of its pillars, however his gifts, creativity and very soul live on via the very art that was his life’s work.

With deep sorrow,
Jason & Patricia

Andy,
Very saddened to hear of the death of your brother Gordon. His work was both brilliant and inspirational.A great loss to all involved in this hobby.

My condolences to you and your family, I met Gordon once and he chatted with me about his dioramas, which to me are works of art, nice chap. His and your inspiration and creativeness for Toy Soldiers brings great joy to many, I belive we would have such a great hobby without the Neilson brothers and you have a legacy to be proud of. I was in my Toy Soldier collection room last night and raised a glass to Gordon, it was a glass of Iron Bru, which i thought was fitting.

Sincere condolences and sorry we will not see more of Gordon's amazing work. CHris
