Guys, name your worst films! (1 Viewer)

My worst list would include,
Any Stalone movie except for the first Rocky and First Rambo.
Dances with Wolves
Gods and Generals
Iron Eagle movies
Top Gun, except for the first minute showing the flight deck operations.
Natural Born Killers
I also happen to think that Airplane is an American classic. To have Peter Graves, Leslie Neilsen and Robert Stack play comedic roles. None of them had been really known for comedy before. Oh! and also Mrs. Cleaver!

Oh I hope America is not remembered for Airplane.;):D
I also liked Dances with Wolves and Top Gun but Natural Born Killers was indeed frighteningly bad and agree completely on the Stalone movies.

Dances with Wolves could have been so much better. I knew people that were extras in the movie. I was just so disappointed with it, that I can't watch it. I know that a lot of people do like it. Sometimes I think that Kevin Costner takes himself too seriously sometimes. I only really liked A Field of Dreams, Bull Durham and later Open Range.

I can appreciate that. I did like For the Love of the Game as well though.

I didn't see that one. I did forget that I also like the Untouchables, but to me, that was a Sean Connery movie. To me Sean made that movie.

Most bad movies have at least one redeeming scene somewhere throughout their interminable length even if it's the final credits.

But Cliff Richards "Summer Holiday" was downright and still is bloody awful including The End title (for our American colleagues Cliff baby is/was at the time of this movie an English Elvis wannabe who has now become all of our Grandmother's 70 year old UK National Treasure )

And my other real bad/worst movie was on UK TV the other night "Force 10 from Navarone"-Dreadful film, dreadful cast with Robert Shaw taking the Gregory Peck part of Keith Mallory but playing it exactly like Quint in khaki. Terrible film!

But Rob I thought "Kelly's Heroes" & "The Patriot" to be entertaining nonsense but not bad movies. And afterall our American cousins did win both of those wars :D

Couldn't believe how bad the last batch of Star Wars movies turned out. Never a huge fan, but I laughed out loud at the first two in the recent trilogy and didn't watch the third.

"Pearl" was a close runner up. I give it credit for some nice action scenes during the attack - otherwise an unwatchable mess.

"Battle of the Bulge" deserves mention for its singing Nazis and wildly inaccurate story. I still watch that one, though, like a traffic accident. Hard to look away.

Just to toss in a vote for Costner as not being all bad, his "Wyatt Earp" was not bad, (a bit long), and he was outstanding in "Thirteen Days" with Bruce Greenwood, (Cuban Missle Crisis, for those too young to remember). But then there is always "Waterworld"... -- lancer

Anything with Jean Claude Van dame and Steve Segal, are terrible

Sooooooo true!.Pearl Harbour has some truly awful acting in it,but is saved by the effects. And finally someone has mentioned the singing Nazi's!!.I grew up watching the Bulge on the tv every Christmas and although its full of holes its still a fave.

Again very true!

Don't let my mother read this Reb otherwise she'll give you a clout round the lug ole. Cliff is "her man" as she says. Summer Holiday wasn't all that bad just a bit of light hearted fun. :) I wouldn't mind grabbing a double decker and going on a Summer Holiday :D

Agreed, he very much deserved the oscar and then some.

OK, it is now clear to me that this is a dangerous topic. What can you do when even your friends start insulting your taste in movies.:D:confused:
Suffice it to say that some of those are also on my favorites list; in fact I just watched one again last night.:eek::eek:

Wild Hogs was very bad i think the script was written as they filmed .
Last batch of Star Wars films just bloated CG crap.
300 could have been sooooo much better...should have been made in the Ridley Scott style.

Zombie strippers...............:D Copped it on foxtel last night when i got home from the boozer, watched about 5-10 seconds of it what a crock of #### LMAO.

Tend to agree with lancer here as to be honest I have never completely understood the continual downer on Costner particularly on your side of the pond. Sure he has made some real crappy movies but so did Brando let alone De Niro and Pacino who between them have churned out a few turkeys over the years. I personally have always admired Costner's courage to take on roles within movies that just by reading the script had to be no-hopers as far as cinema-goers passing over their bucks at the box-office.

Some other roles I would give him kudos for are:

"Field of Dreams" sure whimisical and Capra-esque but sorry guys I thoroughly enjoyed it and prompted me to find out a little more of the back history of the game of baseball and it's hall of heroes which had always eluded this Brit as I'm sure our game of cricket does to most of you.

"No Way Out" a very tight well scripted thriller that is still very watchable today.

"Open Range" which in my book- being an immense western fan - was one of the best and grittiest westerns that came out of the Hollywood stable in years.

And "The Upside of Anger" once again I thought to be a powerful film with virtuoso performances from Joan Allen and Costner almost playing a Bull Durham in retirement. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Subsequently, just cannot understand Americans apparent national pastime of let's bash Costner because I could name a whole shed load of actors that have delivered a much worse body of work than he has

Not sure why but the Four Feathers with Heath Ledger was a major disappointment which I blamed on the Director.
Enjoyed Dances with Wolves very much and have to admit I was surprised I enjoyed Mamma Mia (in my defence my wife made me watch it !!).
Regards
Brett
