Heco Tinplate Models (2 Viewers)

I just sent Brad a couple of shots of the newest Fokker, along with a polite request that he post them for me on this thread.:)

Here is the Heco Fokker. The other picture didn't come out well so you may want to send me another.

Very nice Fokker Dr-1 that you have added, Louis. If I might ask, what USAS Spad is that in the right background? That looks very nice, as well. -- Al

Al,

That's a classic K&C wood version of Eddie Rickenbacker's Spad from @1992.

Thanks, Louis. It looked like wood, just wasn't sure. -- Al

I'm very excited about K&C getting back into WWI aircraft. The ones they did early on were exceptional, especially the Sopwith Camel, Sopwith Pup and SE5a.

I also saw John Jenkin's new Fokker DR1 and Sopwith Camel in Chicago, and they also looked great.

There looks to be an embarassment of riches for WWI Warbird collectors in the coming months. I only wish Tony and Adele Williams from Heco would find a way to get their wonderful tinplate WWI aircraft back in production.

I am absolutely thrilled about the upcoming WW1 aviation releases that JJD and KC will be offering. I am a WW1 aviation nut from waaaay back. With the projected releases I am afraid my collecting will be narrowed to these aircraft alone. Everything else will be backburnered, perhaps for good, with the possible exception of a Tiger tank or two. WW1 aircraft will become my be all and end all. There is nothing like the history, personel, and atmosphere of the wind in the wires, for me. I can't wait.:D -- Al

I had my first flight in an open cockpit biplane (a Waco) about a month ago, and I absolutely agree about the "atmosphere of the wind in the wires", it was one of the coolest experiences of my life. WWI and WWII aviation have always been fascinating to me.

Wow! More than 16,000 views of this thread!:cool: Heco must be pretty popular. :) I am pursuing a couple of leads right now, and hope to have a few more Heco items to post photographs of soon.;)

I got one off my most wanted list: The Heco Tinplate WWI British Ambulance in Desert Markings.:cool::cool::cool: Photos to be posted when it arrives!:)

I know the drill :D

If you want, I can e-mail you a link to the auction I just won, and you can post the 4 photos from the auction, which are quite good. You can see that both side doors and the two back doors all open and close. It is a brilliant piece of art by Tony and Adele!:cool:

Here are the photos. Nice model :)

That is a beautifully done ambulance. I like the clean look and full moon rear door windows. Nice get. -- Al

Thanks, Al! I have wanted this particular model for several years, since I saw it in an old already closed Vectis Auction. The only Heco pieces I wanted more than this one are the enormous JU52 and that magnificent WWI German Gunboat. If I ever find one of those, I will have found my "holy grail" of Heco collecting.

A gentleman on the forum going by the moniker Boerboy has a Heco Fokker Tri-Plane for sale. I tried to find out what he was asking for the item (I already have 4, one in this exact markings) but he preferred that anyone interested make an offer. Its an iconic Heco piece, one that every Heco collector should have, so get out there fellow Heco enthusiasts, send Boerboy a PM with an offer and get yourself this wonderful item!:)

The ambulance arrived safely today. I sent Brad three photographs of it on my K&C/Heco airfield, with a polite request that he post them for me.:)
