Heco Tinplate Models (2 Viewers)

I forwarded Brad 8 photographs of my post-WWI/WWII Heco Tinplate vehicles, as well as a WWII Staghound Armored Car produced by Bengurion, another excellent cottage manufacturer of metal military vehicles from the 1990's.

As I recall, the owner of Bengurion was a retired Royal Engineer, who had been seconded to the Israeli army to assist in the conversion of Centurion Tanks to the Israeli specs (subsequently called "Bengurion Tanks" - hence the name of the company). In addition to the Staghound Armored Car, I have an M16 Quad 50-Caliber Halftrack (somewhere in storage) and gave my friend Morgan a Royal Navy Rolls Royce armored car by Bengurion as well.

Hi Louis,

Congrats to your Inter Wars Military Motor Pool. Like you I am also one of those that wish to collect not only WW1 and WW2 Military vehicles, but crave to have samples of what was available in the years between the Wars.....For that there is no other way, we have to go to CJB Models, TAW, Trophy, Heco and Metal Shed....The hard part is that these are harder and harder to find.
I am a great fan of CJB Models, for me CJB mastered the art of detail at a scale....had the chance some time ago to compaire in detail one of his scale artillery trucks to a full size one and was surprised with the level of accuracy.... Just now I could spot in your photos two very nice samples..one military artillery lorry with canvas cover and one very nice ambulance.....
Regards,
Fleury

I have had a look at your albums, and you have quite an extensive collection of CJB Models, Toy Army Workshop, and Britains Premier WWI and inter-war years vehicles.^&cool

I agree that CJB Models is as good (and as accurate) as it gets. Have you had a look at Bengurion Models? They are another very well made, very accurate cottage producer of WWI and WWII vehicles. They were produced in Great Britain in the mid-1990's by a retired British Army officer (I believe he was in ordinance or an engineer). You can see a photo of a Staghound Armored Car Bengurion produced in one of the immediately proceeding posts on this thread.

This is another good collection i have ever seen! :)

I have to say, that I have not seen any equivalent metal military vehcile as detailed and faithful in scale and quality as CJB Models were......The sad part to this is that CJB, line TAW and many others, was one of those small artist driven companies in the UK that did not survive the China plaster substitutes that today drown the market.........

Thanks to the generosity of good friend Rich Schuster, who gave me a wonderful Bengurion lorry, I will be sending Brad a couple of photos of my two Bengurion vehicles together with a polite request that he post them on this thread.:smile2:

Louis, I hate to tell you, but you have seen my 3 planes, not sure of any other Heco collector on the forum. Michael

Dave,

Iad a couple from years ago when they were in production. Then I picked up the Staghound Armored Car on ebay a couple of years ago. A collector buddy of mine who has a few of them has given me one, and will be giving me another later this week.

Well Louis you have some very kind and generous friends! I look forward to seeing the photos.

Dave

I sent Brad a couple of more Bengurion photos with a polite request that he post them on this thread.:smile2:

Later this week, I will post 4 more Bengurion from my collection. I think I have a Whippet tank, German Half Track, and 2 others.
