A big part of this hobby is the people in it. I was and continue to be fortunate to meet some great folks in this hobby. Long story short, I found this AW Miniature set in my travels a long time ago and I knew Louis would love it. I have nearly burst (like Xmas morning feeling) every time I have talked to him on the phone since I found it. One of the great thrills of this hobby is making someone else smile as it reminds me (and I am sure us all) of that thrill when we were kids and got something that made our day! SO as happy as Louis was with this small token, it thrilled me to find it for him too!

Thanks for posting the photos for me Brad!:smile2:

My pleasure Louis :smile2:

You have picked up some really cool sets Louis!! Thanks for sharing them with us. Can I ask about the horse drawn set in the background? What maker is it and could you take a photo of it please?

That is a Royal Engineers Telegraphic Tool Wagon from A.W. Military Figures (the same maker as the new Canon set). There is a photo of it in Post 190 of this thread.:smile2:

Tom,

I can't thank you enough. I was completely surprised and totally blown away by your thoughtful gift. When you said there was a surprise for me at the show, I was sure you meant the one from Figarti. Opening that box and seeing "A.W. Military Figures" on the bottom of the diorama base made the whole show for me Friday!:smile2:

Yo Brad, thanks for the photos mate. Louis these are stunning{sm3}, if I wasn't such a Chas Stadden fan think I would try and collect Heco myself. Seeing the WW1 Tank takes me back many years to a 16 year old in boy service at Bovington, had this photo taken of my mate Jeff Strong (right) and myself next to the same Tank. (happy days). Not been on the forum much lately, up the wall trying to sort the back Garden out, the builder left it like a quarry:mad:.
Bernard.

Nice photo Bernard! :smile2: You were a handsom young chap. Hope the Garden works out OK.

The photos are only of my WWI vehicles. As far as motor vehicles from Heco go, I also have a Boer War Steam Tractor, a post-WWI Rolls Royce Half Track, a WWII Rolls Royce Armored Car, and two different Tiger Tanks (Normandy and Kursk markings). There are photos of all of these throughout this thread.

Heco also made WWI Whippet, Mark I, and Renault FT17 tanks. There are reproduced catalogue photographs of these tanks on this thread as well.

I almost forgot one of my favorites: a WWII AEC Matador Lorry, the back loaded with red and black oil drums, with a full figure WWII Tommy driver.

The last ambulance is from CJB Models, another Cottage Maker no longer in production that I intend to obtain more of for my collection.
