Heco Tinplate Models (1 Viewer)

That's quite a MASH unit that you have growing there, Louis. Looks real nice. :smile2: -- Al

Thanks Al!,

I just added the crashed Camel to it, and rearanged it so the stretcher team is walking from the crashed plane to one of the ambulances, and the firetruck (operated by one of my new Heco RFC groundcrew figures) is getting ready to hose down the wreckage. I'll take some photos and ask Brad to post them for me.:smile2:

Just sent Brad five photos of my new Heco items (all of which came with Heco figures, which are pretty hard to come by), with a polite request that he post them.:smile2:

The first two are some shots of the crashed Sopwith Camel, now set up with the airfield hospital scene. All the figures depicted, including the Tommy taking the ladder from the Aerodrome Firetruck are Heco figures.

The third photo is of the new RFC Tractor pulling a fuel tank. The two pilot figures between the tractor and the two flying ambulances are Heco figures.

The fourth photo is of my 7th Rolls Royce Armored Car. The two figures behind it, and the stacks of tires are part of the crew that came with it. The two figures between it and the halftrack are also Heco tank/armored car commander figures.

The fifth photo depicts the Whippet Tank stuck in a Heco vehicle traffic jam on a road passing through the airfield. The two figures next to the Whippet are also Heco tank/armored car commanders.

Got another awesome Heco item on the way -- let's just say it might save Michael (Maddicus).:wink2:

Thought you had forgot about me.. Michael

No Mike . . . my offer with regard to the RRAC still stands, my friend.:wink2: But that wasn't the point of my post. Remember a few months ago when I said I would kill for a certain late production De Haviland DH2 in your collection?

Well I just sent Brad 2 photos of my version of the model, in a slightly different paint scheme than yours, but with the same incredible level of detail as your late production model.

I also sent Brad 3 photos of my new Zulu War 24th Foot Heliograph Tower mini-diorama, and two photos each of two different anti-aircraft guns, each with seated two man crews.

Oh, and I have another incredibly cool Albatross DV in the Manfred von Richtoven's livery, as well as yet another different Nissen Hut on its way . . . ^&cool

Although all of the sets are beautiful that's the one I'm waiting to see Louis{bravo}}

Cheers

Gorgeous Heco models. Love the aircraft, but I believe it is mis-identified as the DH-2. I would say it is a Vickers FB5, known as the Gunbus. The DH-2 was a single seat fighter and did not have the oleo style landing gear. The model is very much a 2-seater with the characteristic oleo style (skids) landing gear of the FB5. The crew nacelle is also much closer in shape and appearence to the Gunbus than the DH-2. This is a very nice and complicated model that Heco has made. -- Al

In looking for more info on pusher aircraft..I found this site..http://www.wwiaviation.com . Not sure if the link part of the equation works, but others can figure it out. Al, you might really like this stuff. Michael

The link works fine. It looks to be a great site. I have not seen it before but it has many color profiles of a LOT of planes. Many thanks for posting this, Michael. -- Al

I now have 5 different Heco pusher planes. Maybe I should photograph all of them together, and you can identify them for me.:smile2:

Great website! There are a half-dozen British pusher planes depicted, both 1 seater and 2 seaters. There was a De Haviland DH1 two seater that looks a bit more like my plane that the Vickers Gunbus. Among my pusher planes I have one single seater and four two seaters of three different designs. I am pretty sure at least one is a Vickers Gunbus (it came with the certificate). I think the new one may be a DH1, the single seater may be a DH2, and the last one may be one of the three Royal Aircraft Factory pusher planes on the website. I think I better get Al some photos and let the expert figure it out:wink2:
