Heco Tinplate Models (1 Viewer)

Re: Wanted: Heco Tinplate Vehicles

I was really pleased to find this thread with it's many, many posts.

I know Tony Williams of HECO very well indeed, in fact I am his daughter and feel so proud that people are still collecting and looking out for his work :D

How are Tony and Adelle? Tell them Gideon says Hi, if they remember me. I was at Classic Toys in NYC.

Re: Heco Tinplate Vehicles

I sent Brad a couple of photos of the Royal Navy Floatplane with a polite request that he post them for me. I am sorry for being such a pest lately, but I finally broke out the new camera, and I have had a lot of things to photograph.

Re: Heco Tinplate Vehicles

Louis, it's quite all right, no need to apologize. Here are the photos :)

Re: Heco Tinplate Vehicles

Hans finally found the Heco Quonset Hut, and he is bringing it to the Symposium for me . . . photos to follow!

Re: Heco Tinplate Vehicles

Hans did not bring the Quonset Hut to the Symposium, but will bringing it within the next couple of weeks.

In the interim, at the show on Sunday, I obtained a magnificent Heco Armored Car in desert markings. It made a fantastic Symposium weekend that much better. I will take photos and send them to Brad with a polite request that he post them for me later today.

Re: Heco Tinplate Vehicles

I sent Brad 6 photos of the new desert armored car, some of which are side by sides with my Rolls Royce Armored Car, to show that it is a different model (indeed, I am not even sure that its a Rolls Royce, as Heco also made Austin and Crossley Armored Cars).

Here are the photos. What a piece!

Re: Heco Tinplate Vehicles

Thanks Brad! We who are technologically challenged salute you!:D

Re: Heco Tinplate Vehicles

I just purchased two more Heco WWI planes, one German, one British. Upon their arrival, I will take photographs and forward them to Brad with a polite request that he post them for me.

Re: Heco Tinplate Vehicles

Nice looking models indeed! :)

Jeff

Thanks Jeff! I should be receiving a WWI German Fighter in a cool black livery with a black and white striped tail, as well as a British Bomber in a nice silver finish. As soon as I get them, I will take and forward photos to Brad to post them on this thread. Each Heco item I obtain is an individual work of art. Tony Williams cut, hammered and assembled hundreds of pieces of tin (the boxes include a certificate that specify how many pieces were assembled to produce each model) and his wife Adele would paint and decorate the models. Like the early wood and metal K&C vehicles, the present production wood K&C aircraft, and Gordon Neilson's or Ken Osen's dioramas, each one is unique and handcrafted. They are truly special.

Re: Heco Tinplate Vehicles

I just sent Brad 4 photos of the 2 new Heco planes I received today, with a polite request that he post them on this thread when he gets a chance.

Re: Heco Tinplate Vehicles

Here are the photos :)
Great aircraft, Louis. The German fighter appears to be a Pfalz D-III. The shape of the tail and the struts are identifying characteristics. The silver British fighter is a classic SE-5 in post-war colors. Great get, once again. -- Al

Re: Heco Tinplate Vehicles

Gee Louis, you always pick the best ones:D..Michael

Michael,

I just grab the ones I find. I'm up to 32 Heco Pieces now, and I am seriously considering trying to scrape together the money for a major Heco piece I have located. I just love Heco!:)

Re: Heco Tinplate Vehicles

I am posting links to photographs of two amazing (and sadly already sold) Heco Tinplate Items, a 1914 German Gunboat (I could cry that I missed this one) and a Hawker Hurricane:

Could somebody who knows what they are doing with computers follow the links and post the photographs for me? Thanks in advance!

In disappointment at missing the incredible gunboat, I just agreed to purchase a Heco Tinplate Tiger Tank in different markings than the one I already own. The seller has to pull it out of storage, which he says may take a week. Pictures to follow on receipt.
