Heco Tinplate Models (2 Viewers)

Re: Heco Tinplate Vehicles

I am posting links to photographs of two amazing (and sadly already sold) Heco Tinplate Items, a 1914 German Gunboat (I could cry that I missed this one) and a Hawker Hurricane:

Could somebody who knows what they are doing with computers follow the links and post the photographs for me? Thanks in advance!

In disappointment at missing the incredible gunboat, I just agreed to purchase a Heco Tinplate Tiger Tank in different markings than the one I already own. The seller has to pull it out of storage, which he says may take a week. Pictures to follow on receipt.
Her you go, Louis...Love that Gunboat!

Thanks Mike! :) I think missing that Gunboat will be one of my all time biggest collecting disappointments.:( Not even picking up a Heco Tiger Tank in Normandy markings (my present Heco Tiger is in Eastern front marking almost identical to those on the upcoming K&C Tiger) makes up for it.

Re: Heco Tinplate Vehicles

Louis,
You're more than welcome...I think you are on to something with that gunboat:cool::cool: Now, as a favor, could you join Mark Levin's lawsuit team to overthrow this healthscare bill?:mad:

If they need an Appellate Attorney, I am very reasonably priced . . . ;)

Looks like the seller made a mistake, and he did have the Heco Hawker Hurricane still in stock (albeit missing a wheel) so I am getting both the Hawker and the Tiger. Photos to follow . . .:cool:

Re: Heco Tinplate Vehicles

I mail the seller my part of the trade today . . . 5 sets of Imperial that were collecting dust in my storage facility in exchange for the Heco Tiger and Hawker Hurricane.:)

Re: Heco Tinplate Vehicles

Just had a look thorugh the site WOW you certainly wouldn't get a bagain from that guy

He has one set listed at $1,795.00 and it is still available elsewhere at $560.00 He also has a few thing listed incorrectly (which would not help new collectors)

Re: Heco Tinplate Vehicles

If he got it for the price on the site, $150 (which shows it as still available), that's a steal.

Looks like they cater to the well heeled collector.

That's why I worked a trade. 5 sets of Imperial (which I paid retail, about $75, back in the early 1990's) for the Heco Hawker & Tiger Tank was a lot fairer than the list prices.;)

Re: Heco Tinplate Vehicles

There you go Louis.

Thanks for pulling it up! :) When it arrives I will take some better photos, and do a side by side comparison with my other Heco Tiger tank (which is in the same markings and camo as the forthcoming K&C eastern front version - there's a photo on page 5 of this thread).

The prices are a bit steep . . . Did you notice, there is (unidentified) another Heco item on the website, a Fokker DR1 Triplane in the Red Baron's markings. Here's a link, if you want to post the photo:

Re: Heco Tinplate Vehicles

In Issue 19 of Toy Soldier magazine, there is a wonderful article about Heco Tinplate Models, and its propietors, Tony and Adele. In the article it indicates that Heco used to make LARGE WORLD WAR II AIRCRAFT, specifically including a Junkers JU52!!! I was told several years ago that they had made a Lancaster, but I had never been able to confirm that models this large had been made.

Does anybody out there have a photograph of one of these beauties?

Re: Heco Tinplate Vehicles

Using a lead I found in one of the articles I received about Heco, I located and purchased a very early Tinplate Royal Artillery Telegraph Tool Wagon for $75.:cool: Photos to follow on receipt.

I am finally picking up the Heco Nissen Hut Hans got for me tomorrow, photos will be sent to Brad with a polite request that they be posted.

I just sent Brad 4 photos of my Heco Nissen Hut and the little Heco Airfield set up I have hidden at the back of my K&C RAF airfield diorama, with a polite request that he post them on this thread.:)

Re: Heco Tinplate Vehicles

I was reading one of the early articles about Heco and its proprietors, Tony and Adele Williams, and learned that prior to opening Heco Tinplate Models ("Heco" stands for Hot Engines & Castor Oil) in 1988, from approximately 1972 until 1980, Anthony "Tony" Williams produced Toy Soldiers as "A.W. Military Figures".

The article indicates that one of his A. W. Military Figures clients asked Tony to make a Tinplate Truck to go with some WWI Toy Soldiers he had produced, and Tony made one out of tin from an oil can. The Truck was well received, and the customer asked him for a Biplane as well.

After learning this information, I googled "A.W. Military Figures" and found and bought an early Tinplate horsedrawn wagon in its original A.W. Military Figures box with a buy it now for $75. As soon as it arrives I will get some photos to Brad with a polite request that he purchase them.

If anyone has any other "A.W. Military Figures" items for sale, or even just to post photos of, it would be much appreciated.:)
