Help identifing Chuch Harris' loose items (1 Viewer)

Re: Help identifing Chuck Harris' loose items

Can anyone provide any information about this M3 Half-track, especially the company on the box? I can not find anything online about this UK model company. Trying to figure out how to price this restoration piece.

Thank you

I ran a web search using the keywords, "ben-gurion models", but then refined it to "ben-gurion models toy soldiers", and got better results, including this page, with a little bit of a description:

http://llmtoysoldiers.com/bengurion.htm

Also included was this auction (now ended):

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/FUSILIER...WW2-EXCELLENT-BS1221-/111979937259?rmvSB=true

This suggests to me that Fusilier may have absorbed Ben-Gurion at some point, as they have with some other makers' catalogs.

Hopefully our forum friends in the UK may know more. Otherwise, I'm going to have to go through my library of Toy Solder & Model Figure and other magazines to see if I can find any references.

Hope that helps, prosit!

Brad - you are awesome! I tried several variations and got nothing. A shame this piece is damaged. I have to wonder if my Dad bought it this way with the intention of restoring it. Still has the receipt in the box.

Thank you so much Brad!

Hi
I have had several dealings with the owner of Bengurion. They really do not actively trade any longer, they were an independent company and are NOT related to Fusilier. The owner is still around. Basically, a small cottage industry model maker who made a lot of different vehicles WW1 and WW2 . Unique items and quite nice for old glossy 54mm collectors!

Can you also send an image of them standing, and so get an idea of what they are?

Thanks,
John

Here is another picture of them upright. I have 6 of these.

Thank you WAF07! I will search online to see if I can find more information.

I forgot to say that they were made by Hachette,

a series of French Foreign Legion, with 150 figures released 2004-10.

Thank you so much, John. I appreciate the extra information. I have 6 of these figures so this will have me id the rest of them
Happy 4th!

Likely to be, though if you could tell us if there are any markings under the base, that would help. The quality of the painting suggests to me that these are kit figures painted by a hobbyist, though I may be wrong about that.

Prost!

Not a thing on the bases. That's why I didn't worry with a picture.

By what I can see at least three figures are Tradition of London, the soldier kneeling with a bayonet, the officer with the pistol /red jacket and pith helmet...the soldier kneeling firing but hard to say.
They are all British soldiers of the ZUlu War period.
The other soldiers I cannot guess the maker....the painting is very basic and a buyer would have to clean them up and paint again....
Cheers
