HIRIART French Military Parade, 1914 (1 Viewer)

Outstanding collection and thanks for posting it. Ehst do you have as to Durbar and are any sets still available? Thanks.

Your welcome Tommy. I am not exactly sure what you asked me. However, I plan to open a new thread this week end with all of Hiriart's Indian Army sets. I have both elephant sets available, but none of the others. In the past, I have ordered most of the Indian Army sets for a fellow collector, but plan to order my own in 2012. The reason for not ordering them with my 2011order is that I am concentrating on British units, Latin American units, and WW II specials with that order. My pending 2011 order is already up to more than 80 sets.

Mike,
This is an outstanding and most informative thread, thanks so much, a real breath of fresh air.:)

Mike . . . Received your listing today and am eager to explore it in detail. I have a few poorly painting castings that are clearly stamped "Hiriart" . . . woder what therir origin was? They are puportedly several decades old.\

Al,

I honestly don't know. Howver, I am fairly confident that they don't currently sell castings. If you can photograph them and send me a copy, I will forward the photos to Hiriart and see what they say the story is.

Hi Craig,

Thanks, I thought so, too. In fact, I have already added the set to my pending 2011 Hiriart Order #7. Here are a couple of other sets you might enjoy:

Here are two photos from Bob Walker's collection. Both he and I ordered 1138 Imperial German Garde Husaren and 1148 Imperial German Totenkopf Husaren basic sets with an officer, bugler, and three husaren; add-on sets of each set with five extra husaren; and a special band with nine figures including a drum horse. Alas, mine are still in their boxes while his are displayed. Some other Hiriart sets visable include 1048 Deutches Kriegsmarine, 1244Deutches Askaris Afrika, and 1245 Deutches Sud-West Afrika Truppen.

These are very nice Mike, they have an extensive amount of sets they produce. Are there any more in the farm series?

Thanks. Although there are 335 sets in the Hiriart catalog plus an additional 40 sets in their Spanish Civil War catalog, set 1317 Farmers & Workers is the only one.

Thanks Mike for posting the pictures and information on Hiriart sets. I enjoyed viewing them at Chicago in Buzz Thorpe's room. They make interesting sets of figures.

My pleasure. I always check out Buzz's room in Chicago to see what specials he has ordered. I agree that Hiriart makes interesting sets of figures. I guess that is what first attracted me to them in the first place. I have not been disappointed as they keep adding more and more interesting sets.

Here are some more.

Mike . . . Does Hiriart sell castings? If So, there are a number I'd like to order.

Al

Here is a set I have never seen before; it is currently on eBay with a $125 asking price. It is 1232 Battle For England, 1940, which usually comes with just two pilot figures and two mini fighters. This version has six figures, including a Goering personality figure, plius the mini Spitfire, Bf-109, and a Me-110. I am going to order it on next year's order for my collection.

There's also another interesting Hiriart set on eBay, WWI Turkish Camel set. Decently priced too.

It is set 1316 Turkish Camel Corps, Palestine which sold a couple of months ago on eBay for more than $200 or $300 plus. I don't remember exactly, but it was one of two Hiriart sets that sold for either the $300+ or $200+ price.
