I apologize that it has taken so long to finish this thread...I had good intentions to get it done quickly and got really sidetracked...but here is my last display...this castle is one of the first scratch built structures i ever made...that time involved to cast each brick by hand...build it and coupled with K&C's fantastic Crusader/Saracen series...I swore I would never sell it...following this post are some pics...
Ken...thanks for the comments...the dimensions are 37"s x 57"s...I wish i had made it bigger as I have outgrown it...I have added a few more figures to it recently...here are a couple of current picture...
thanks Mark...yes I made the bridge...it was easy...just popsickle sticks and coffee stirrer sticks...it was embedded in the table and the river was poured into it...enclosed is a close-up picture...
Moe...thanks for the view and comment...
Moe...the water is really easy to do...it creates a very nice effect...if you ever want to try...just contact me and I will help you in any and every way possible...thanks for the comment...
Jim sent me a disc of his displays years ago...I have never been in his shop...but some of my friends have and have told me they are quite spectacular...thanks for the nice comment...
The French Indian War Scene is simply beyond fantastic. It is perfect!!!! You managed to blend all the figures seamlessly into a single display. Who else could have put the mortar wagon with the canoes and make it work? Only MIKE!!! The Indians on horseback even fit. Particularly fond of the mass of French and Indians in firing position along the Creek. Your groundwork is so, so good. There are very few posts in the history of the forum where the quality of the groundwork has approached your work.
Mike,
What are the dimensions of the display?

Very engrossing display and pictorial.

I've noticed that Mike does terrific renderings of water-features. I suspect that this is an area where "the wheat get's separated from the chaff" in terms of skill and experience in diorama building.^&cool

Mike, for a collection like this, you should really be offering Open House events like Hillestead.
