well you can doubt me should you wish I aint losing sleep over that!!! but, the comments were facts and made to reduce collector dissapointment and, trace where the damage comes from. Sensible points but, seemingly not for you. All your post has done, has highlighted an issue that involves yourself by yourself. Just re read the thread and you will see these facts

Ok Mitch, whatever you say........

You made a comment about wondering where the fault lies with regards to the damage, I told you I inspected the sets and there was no damage, thus the damage occurred in transit from me to the customer, so now you know the answer to the problem, mystery solved right Mitch, time to move on to another thread for you.

Apparently not as you want to prattle on and on and on about it.

Really Mitch, you've done the forum a great service by helping solve the mystery, mission accomplished, good job, what on earth would the forum do without you..............

You seem to be the only one making sarcastic comments and cheap digs not I when the thread was just looking at the issues no conspiracy theory was set forth and, you dived in having the silly retorts as if I had put some guilt at your door.
Rather churlish and not needed IMO

I guess I shouldn't be singling out TG only, that was not my intention. In all fairness I've received damaged goods from almost every manufacture , some more than others. That being said, it's bound to happen now and again w/ delicate items such as these, and there always seems to be a learning curve w/ new manfacturers in terms of them working out the bugs in their packaging procedures, QC, etc. So TG is definitely not alone in this regard.

Regarding who is to blame..I don't think anybody was looking to place blame. For the record though, I can say that none of the TG sets I ordered from George arrived damaged. The damaged TG sets I've received from other suppliers have always been replaced promptly w/ no questions asked. That's all that matters to me, even if it's frustrating and disappointing to lift the lid on a set you've been anxiously awaiting only to find it is damaged. Stuff happens.

At least TG items are replaceable unlike a recent buy I made from Russia of a unique, non-mass produced piece that arrived badly damaged. There is no replacement available for it. So from that perspective, receiving a damaged TG item is really not a big deal. You just have to go through the return process and wait a bit longer for it. In the end you will have your set though.

my point which was wasted on some was that I think very few may leave a factory from any maker damaged (with exception of some of the faulty packaging we have seen) and, to go from China etc all the way say to the UK or US and have no damage. then on arrival any dealer will check and post out. I said about dealers in response to a comment that it was down to customs it seems to be in the case of Gary possibly an internal postal issue. However, it seems to have turned into a conspiracy theory rather strangely.

Its often easy to blame the manufacturer when its out of their hands what happens but, having seen a lot of TG sets the figures always come with elastic bands on the figure sets as extra support and the aircraft boxes had tape on each side. What more can a manufacturer do to ensure their collectors get sets in the order they expect I.E. in perfect order??? I suppose the more an item is dragged out of its wrapping the more liklihood sets get damaged

This is a mirror image of the K&C flak gun at christmas with ongoing broken bits and other issues I could raise. Its looking a little mischievious IMO. Its not like everyone of the sets is broken and, if we look at this thread its a very small number of people so, as is often brought up when we are discussing other manufacturers faults this forum does not really represent the collectors outside in the non online world.

TG breakages is as much a concern as K&C, Figarti and FL etc etc. and, as we have maturally and eloquently informed by those in the know its a postal issue.

Lets get it into perspective
Mitch

Interesting points here, but really if the item leaves the dealer all correct than the issue is with the carrier be it US Post or UPS etc. If you have never received an item that was damaged you should consider yourself a truly lucky guy. But we really need to back away from conspiracy theories, and chaulk this sort of stuff up to stuff happens...

I'll second that all the sets I've ever bought I got through George and have never had any damage

Could it be that these problems come from customs inspection?

Paulo

I agree with this statement. If customs opens a well packed box of items I doubt that they "ALWAYS" repack everything properly the way it was when shipped.

I have experienced similar maladies, e.g. broken hands on a gun crewman, broken bayonets, etc. :(

Mine have always come protected in those little sections of cut straws you get with drinks.

Its a gripe we have with all manufacturers

I noticed that sometimes that certain shipping carriers are the cause. I ship a lot of items and it seems that one carrier I use sometimes seems to have way more issues than another I use.

Sounds like it is time to say Bye to the carrier with the "Issues" {sm3}

Does the dealer inspect them before delivery and not re-pack them correctly, not having ago at dealers just a thought??

We inspect figures when we start getting problems. We find a lot of them. Marc is right all the manufacturers have these problems.

My advice is open packages immediately. Pull the foam liner out of the box completely. Push gently from the bottom of the foam. Try to expand the foam from the head or arms or weapons. Do not grab the figures by these pieces. Gently ease them out from the foam. Gently and slowly are the operating terms here.
