Idea for a New Berlin 45' Diorama Set (1 Viewer)

Ok, So does anyone else see a desire for a Berlin 45' Fuhrer bunker dio set being done ???? It can have soviet troops storming it with Volksturm defending it or HJ defenders line up getting their Iron Crosses....Whatever....... the display possibilities are many.We have Mitch's take on it. How about others out there ^&confuse

Mike..

Thanks for the offer. I have seen the one you mention very impressive but, did not see a price but, can only imagine with the work that went into it. I am to mean and, when time permits, I may build one myself unless a manufacturer beats me to an affordable version that would save me time.

Mitch there is an architect in Germany--HOOPner--or such who makes a 70mm scale copy of the Brandenburg bridge--i saw it several times at composition shows in Frankfurt It was huge AND expensive --but BREATHTAKING.If you have any interest let me know and i can get all the info from one of my German buddies.Mike B.

The police were hanging people on suspicion of desertion to keep discipline in rank & file

To me the Brandenburg gate the better idea.

Yeah but it wasn't the original question, here it is again......:)

How many collectors out there would be interested in a new Collectors Showcase Diorama set depicting the rear bunker entrance to the Reich Chancellory with a hunched over Hitler accompanied by Arthur Axmann greeting members of the Hitler Youth defenders as seen in the very well know photograph depicting this event. IMO I think this would be an Awesome set ! Would buy it in an instant. Any other takers on this one ?????

In what scale for the Brandenburg Gate ??? Anything bigger than 1/72 scale is large. 1/48 scale huge in size. 1/30 scale would be gigantic !!!!

Would be cool with the Russians putting there flag on the top, but just think if the yank had taken Berlin like in the game Medal of Honor airborne!^&cool Have you played that game mate ? Very cool

There may well be, there may not. I know lots of WWII collectors and, many are eclectic in what they collect simply, they buy allied german and other nations figures and AFV's but, I don't know many that specialise in one battle or, one period of the war. As the clammer for Berlin on this forum at least, seems relatively popular it may tempt manufacturers to think well, this or that will sell does not mean it will and, collectors as seen on here and other forums I am sure, are notorious for knowing what will and will not sell.

The bunker you speak of was not really a very large structure or, very interesting per se in look. in the area you speak of it was more garden like. The whole point of the structures was not to give away their position.

I could see some figures of Hitler and troops being released, we already have a late war hitler and young soldiers for late war but, I think the buildings you want are too plain and are a specialised type of collector who would want them.

If you want it get a dio made either by yourself or, by one of the many dio builders on here like Firebat et al then rather than wait for something that may not come out which, is likely, you have a bespoke set in your collection
Mitch

I think there is definately a market for more Berlin 45" dio sets..... 1/30 scale.

Mith, You nailed it right on the head. The rear Berlin bunker was not a very large area, hence it would make for a great diorama set not being too large nor expensive to produce while giving WWII European Theater collectors various display possibilities...... During the last defense with panzerfaust armed troops and mg 42's set up, a
worn down Fuhrer giving out medals to HJ, or after the final battle with debris and pow's being rounded up. Again.....just a thought !! :rolleyes2:

This also, though could be a reason why it would not be done as, its too specialised IMO. Your very interested in this part of the war but, many are not and, many don't diorama. manufacturers not only have to bring something fresh (hopefully) but, also that will sell. I think Hitler's back garden may not be a seller and, by the number of replies, its seemingly specific in nature.

I would see more buildings like the tenement building being popular or, a different reich building, or similar but, as I said at the start I would doubt this would be popular.

I would say no to the bunker and surrounding area dio. Just don't find it visually interesting, ie., the building/bunker is boring/drab. Not sure we need another figure of Hitler, either. JMO. -- Al
