Tim...I'm using spackle...I don't think it's near as strong or has the adhesive properties of stucco patch...

I have only used textured stucco patch...but they sell a non-textured stucco patch...it looks like plaster when trowled on...

the spackle is okay...but i would rather you try stucco patch...it's only $5-$6 for a small tub of it...same as the spackle...

Mike...

Looks stunning as your work always does. Look forward to the next instalment

I guess anybody following this thinks I have quit on it...I didn't...

I'm kind of embarrassed to show what little progerss I have done in the last week...but I'm kind of at a standstill...

I'm watching my mail everyday and waiting for the banisters that I ordered from Mark from TMTerrain...

they looked too delicate to make where I thought they would be sturdy...and as he sells the banisters in metal...I decided to buy them from him...I guess the holidays are playing havoc with the mail right now...

I really cant proceed any farther without the railings...

but I did get the ink was on and finish the wooden gate...it's just that I really need the banisters to go any further...

everything seems to fit well and looks proportianate...I think the final coat of paint to match John's stairwell will make a huge difference...

Mike it's great! :) It's quite a large structure when you compare it with the size of the figures, so what are you going to do figure wise to populate it?

Superb Michael, just what I need for my Gordon display;):D

Happy New Year

Martyn:)

oooooookay...

apparently my railings got lost in the mail...

this project sits untouched on the table waiting for the railings...

David at TMTerrain is making me some more and will ship as soon as he can...

it has been over a month since I worked on it...

hopefully these new railings will arrive soon...

That is one great looking diorama! Can't wait to see the completed project. Blends seemlessly with the JJD set. Good work.

Hi Mike,

I know you have been busy making log thingy's but any news on the railings? Looking very much forward to seeing the final result.

:salute::

What a labour of love Mike, this certainly is going to take centre stage when its completed. This whole hobby is about waiting it seems. Cheers, Robin.

thanks JW...I need to get back to work on it...it has set unfinished for almost 2 months now...

Jeff...Robin...the railings finally came just last week...they took 46 days to make it to the US from TMTerrain (UK)...definitely not David's fault by any means and I might mention he was sending me replacements when I notified him that they had finally arrived...by the stamped postage date...he had mailed it very quickly...it just took 1 1/2 months to get here...I'm guessing the freezing cold global weather really slowed it down...

I did start the breast work for Carillion while waiting...and actually finished a 3 station artillery battery too...but rather than doing two projects at once...I will probably finish the Carillion defense piece before I return to the Gordon dio...

by the way...the pieces David fabricated for the railing are superb ultra delicate and tiny little pieces of detailed work...TMTerrain does great work...
