I think Israel has finally stumbled on a formula that might be more effective than waging the typical war. Target the leadership of the organizations that they are fighting wherever they may be. The indiscriminate bombing of cities and endless ground fighting accomplishes very little in the longer term. The terrorist leadership in that region appears to be influenced by only one thing. Fear for their own safety. Negotiation and weakness such as that advocated by the current US government simply emboldens them. It's time for Israel to settle scores and wipe the slate clean of those who have conducted terrorism for decades. Half measures won't cut it. Kudos to Netanyahu for not caving to the US pressure.
There is an interesting contrast between the way in which the US has approached the conflict in Israel and Ukraine. In Gaza, it is all about a ceasefire. In Ukraine, it is about "as long as it takes." There is no effort to find a way to settle that war. Why the difference? My guess is that war in Gaza is hurting them politically. With Ukraine it initially helped them. And they are funneling billions of dollars to contractors who kick it back to the politicians in the form of campaign donations and other benefits. The longer it goes on, the better off are the establishment politicians who hand out the money. None of the decisions being made are about "democracy" or any other lofty principle. It's all about politics. It is my sincere hope that Israel does not let up even as US leaders urge them to.
I'm talking about the current US perspective. Our politicians want an immediate cease fire in Gaza but in contrast they want an endless war in Ukraine. In Israels' case, it's more than politics. It's about their very survival, as their neighbours bay for their blood and want to annihilate them.
Yeah, I have wondered that as well. It is quite odd.I'm talking about the current US perspective. Our politicians want an immediate cease fire in Gaza but in contrast they want an endless war in Ukraine.
Political bullying by way of the free plasticine lot for the one, and endless contracts and bonuses for the other !I'm talking about the current US perspective. Our politicians want an immediate cease fire in Gaza but in contrast they want an endless war in Ukraine.
Is hamas in the U S streets etc "political nonsense??"Hi Folks
I agree with you both. I don’t need to elaborate.
Now the warning to everyone keep the political nonsense out of this forum and there won’t be any issues.

agreed absolutlyNot looking to start a political thread but it needs to be said that I stand with Israel and our fellow members of the Jewish State, hearing the stories today puts the 1940's in a small prisism of what happened then ..
