John Jenkins Chicago Toy Soldier Show Treasure Hunt 2017 (1 Viewer)

My last and final stop is me!!!
For the record, I found me.....^&grin

"Little Julie II" is a little girl hugging her doll in front of her - and is holding what behind her back???
Inspired by the story of Mary Jemison, a captured little girl from Pennsylvania. A small raiding party of French & Indians swooped down on the frontier settlement she and her family were living and captured a number of the British colonists.
From the day she was captured until she passed away she never left the Indian culture.
She made the best of her life and I can relate to that concept!
Question: In the movie "The Searchers", what is John Wayne looking for?
  • His niece
  • Room 5117
  • Natalie Wood

The sculpting on her face is amazing. John really outdid himself on this one in my opinion!

"Little Julie" has been having quite a show thus far and we still have a day & a half left to go! A few dinners out, drinks in, breakfasts all over with great friends!
The journey is far from over but I hope you all have enjoyed the Treasure Hunt this year again!

Go out and have an adventure

Julie

Love them all! John has certainly upped his game and year after year gets better and better

It's good that you were not lost Julie!

Thanks for taking the photos of all the Treasure Hunt items.

I don't know how John has the time to make all that he does and is planning to make.

Moving on to his Treasure Hunt figures! Another new line for 2018 --- Drums Along The Mohawk!
Primarily based on the book of Walter D. Edmonds who wrote about the area of upstate New York, and detailed the lives of pioneer farmers along the Mohawk River during the American Revolution.
This series will also attempt to cover probably the most significant battle of the American Revolution.

....many thanks to Julie for all of the wonderful pictures and for giving us an insight to the new items coming from John.....were you able to establish if there's more than one 'John'?........surely there must be for the amount of new work that is on show....:smile2:

...for me, I'm interested in the comment above about the new series that will feature the American Revolution......would this be related to the various 'scuffles' that took place during the Saratoga Campaign?

....I've always liked the FIW range of figures but now that there is something specifically AWI then I'm in !

...JJD continue to keep us surprised and pleased with each new release....
.

Treasure Hunt in the same room as Larry, or is Larry in the same room as Matt? Same, same - right?
Banter ensued! Matt, Matt, Matt....all I have to say is "Aim small, miss small!"

I was particularly excited to see these three stunners and to learn of this new series. Thanks for sharing these early snaps!^&grin

Hope this answers your question?
--John is moving his 18th Century work towards the American Revolution with the "Drums Along the Mohawk" series. The series will also attempt to cover ones of the most significant battles of the American Revolution: the 2 Battles of Saratoga.

Watch the Treefrog Blog for more information! We will get more information posted there hopefully by the end of the week!

Saratoga Campaign will be a lot of fun to collect. The wide variety of uniforms will make a great display...........Hope John starts it off with some Hessians

I hope you can buy the two boys with muskets without purchasing Gibson....

When I first saw the photo it wasn't Mel who came to mind but Hawkeye. Oh well never mind the two boys and the Mary Jemison figure could be useful !{sm2}

It never occurred to me that it was or would be Mel Gibson because The Patriot takes place in South Carolina.

I had been thinking of perhaps collecting some American Revolution. However, I didn't want to invest a lot of money in First Legion so this may be just the ticket.

As no surprise to anyone who has seen any of my AWI posts, I will be keeping a keen eye on what John designs and releases. I "hope" that they will complement the K&C AWI series and not duplicate what has been done already.

There are so many different ways that John can go. I will be pushing for more non-combat releases, civilians and different regiments and diorama material.

Like Brad, I have been hesitant about moving the AWI collecting into First Legion or W. Britains. Both of those are excellent series, but just not compatible with K&C AWI series.

This will be exciting .....^&grin

I haven't read Drums along the Mohawk in many years, I will need to get a copy. Plus there was the wonderful film.

Personally, I am hoping for many civilian and militia poses, especially militia marching, cattle and maybe axe men for road building. I know they had scene in the movie where there were marching. Ok, I am being devious and dishonest here, I want the militia marching so they can go to the Monongahela!!!

Are there still inquiring minds who want to know the Winners??? I may have a list that should be fairly accurate.
I realize this has been a while BUT sometimes good things come to those who wait {sm4}

Julie

WOW! ^&grin What an absolutely wonderful surprise . . . . This gloomy old day we are having here just brightened up immensely for me . . . Thank you so very much . . . It's very fitting that my next order is BH-19N which will certainly be needed to help maintain and take care of this Corsair . . . . What another wonderful way for John to show his appreciation to his customers . . . .

:smile2: Mike
