Good Morning Wayne ... well I am not 100% sure on that ... :rolleyes2: ... but no one has answered my trivia question yet, so maybe.

I may be the biggest King and Country American Revolution collector though ...

I haven't countered in a bit but I would guess I have about 1750 figures ...{eek3}

Thoroughly enjoying this thread.Great use of these older figures-These were the first K&C figures I ever purchased.Looking forward to the continuing story.Well done that man.

Nice to meet you farmertony.

I am happy that you are enjoying my silliness and hopefully having as much fun as I am.

Actually, these figures are NOT the older of K&C AWI sets. Most of these are the newer releases.

You will be seeing some of the older releases very soon.
Sets like BR01 - BR20 and well as AR01 - AR020 will be making an appearance.

Thank you for you encouraging words, sir.

Larry,

1750 Figures is a huge figure collection, especially K&C figures. If I remember correctly, many of the older figures came out at around $21.00 each.
I would dare say that today these would easily trade for $35.00 - $40.00 a piece if not more ! Pretty darn good on your initial investment .

Outstanding ! :salute::

Good Evening Wayne,

I suspect like MOST collectors, when I discovered the wonderful world of Toy Soldiers and then King and Country, I was all over the collecting board.

I had K&C AWI AR's, K&C AWI BR's, Afrika Corps, 8th Army, BoB Germans and BoB American, Ancient Egyptians and K&C Russians. Throw in some Britains AWI and Deetail for good measure

I discovered (VERY QUICKLY) to my dismay .. :redface2: .. that there was no way that I could keep up with all those series. After much thought and indecision I settled on the series that were pre-Civil War, didn't involve vehicles and was of significance to me. Since I was living in the heart of many American Revolution sites (Boston) and had access to many resources for little of no costs ... The American Revolution won.

So, I traded all the other lines for K&C AWI sets .. plus some trees, shrubs, buildings, etc.

(I DO REGRET not keeping the Ancient Egypt series, but way to expensive to rebuild now ...:redface2:)

Today, I still collect AWI sets, and have added the K&C JN series and K&C's Boyington series and the latest US NAVY series.

With all of my family's history being NAVY .. including me .. I HAD to do the WWII Pacific and that ERA holds a lot of importance to me.

Well that's my story ....

Happy you are tuning in and enjoying the story.

Best,

Well, it's the weekend in Maine and time to finish off the NEXT diorama and the continuation of the story .... {sm4}
Hopefully, you will see it tomorrow so check back.

BUT FIRST .... it seems that no one knew the answer to the Trivia Question so ....

The names of the British soldiers that I used in slide #213 and the name of the British Captain that I used in slide #214 were the British soldiers that were responsible for the BOSTON MASSACRE.

As much as I distrust the web site wikipedia it is very accurate in this case.
See this link if you wish to read a bit more .....https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boston_Massacre

Captain Thomas Preston and six of the eight British soldiers were found "NOT GUILTY" ...{eek3}.

The other two British solders were convicted of Manslaughter. However they pleaded "Right of Clergy [Which means that they can read the BIBLE] and they were set free. There only punishment was a letter "M" branded into their hand.

They were all defended by ...... <drum roll please> ..... the future President of the United States ..... John Adams

Dear mate,

thanks a lot for teaching me that page of history . "You are never too old to learn" and "History is the teacher of life".

You are a real historian. I always love the fascinating job of studying and interpreting the past. Let me explain to you my thought about such an important topic: to be a historian you have to try to bring the past as it was to us, not the past as people want it to be.

Come on, LaRRy, just keep, keep going!

Cheers

Enrico :)

Continuation of the Dragoon Saga

The three Patriots were ONE command away for being shot .. {sm2} ... when ................

<><><><><><>

"HALT! ... STOP man, please STOP I beg you, by order of General Reuss. HALT these proceedings I say!"

"Heed our request, Sergeant, please, STOP. We bear an important message ... PLEASE stand your men down!"

"STOP? Why how dare you interfere here! .. .. What do you say? What important message?"

"We must see Captain Preston immediately. We are on a urgent request to stop this execution. This is a direct order from General Reuss himself.

"Captain Preston? Captain Preston, where are you, Sir?"

"There he is, over by the stable. Captain Preston, Sir; an immediate audience if I may be permitted, Sir.Please"
"I assure you it is of an urgent nature."

--- LaRRy (Arrive01, Arrive02, Arrive03)

"Captain Preston here. What is this about, Corporal?"

"Sir, we have been sent by General Peter Reuss to tell you that you need to halt the execution of these prisoners."
"The General and the rest of the army is right behind us. They will be here momentarily."

"Thank be the Lord that we arrived in time. Failure of our assignment would not be viewed kindly by the General."

"Please, Sir."
"Give the order to stop the execution and have the Sergeant stand the men down, please, Sir."

<BIG Sigh by Captain Preston>
"Very well. Sergeant have the men lower their weapons, but they are to remain here."
"Also, Sergeant, remove the men's blindfolds, immediately."

"Yes, Sir."
"Men, lower your weapons and stand down. Corporal ... remove the blindfolds."

"Remain at your posts until we can deduce what the true nature of this situation may be."
"IS THAT UNDERSTOOD, Gentlemen." OR YOU may be standing at the other end of these muskets ..." {eek3}

"SIR, Understood, Sergeant, Understood, very well."

--- LaRRY (Arrive04, Arrive05, Arrive,06)

"This is Captain Wayne and Captain Miller. Gentlemen, according to these messengers, it appears that General Reuss will be here shortly. We have been ordered to stop the execution, or possibly delay the execution until his arrival."

"How did the General know what was happening here, Corporal?"

"The Indian scout, Maguya and his party, informed him of what had occurred here and he sent us, as runners, to prevent it."

"Why did he want it stopped?"

"I do not know why; I just obey orders."

"Sir, just there ... I believe that is the Indian just mentioned, Maguya. And there is the British column just coming into view now."

"These men told you message by Big General?"

"Yes, Maguya, they got here just in time."

"Just in time good for prisoners, good for messengers and good for women. Also much good for Maguya. I take women as mine. So say, General."

"Oh no, not again .... Maguya, I will ask General Reuss and verify that request. He will be here shortly."

"No, Captain, please. As a British officer and a gentlemen, you can not do this, you can not let him take us!!"

"Ahhh .... Maguya still see the witches speak without permission. Good for Captain that I take witches and save British from doom. Talking witches bad thing, very bad thing."

--- LaRRy (Arrive07, Arrive08, Arrive09)

"Captain Preston, what will happen to our husbands and friend?"

"At this point, I do not have the slightest idea, nor do I particularly care."
"I suspect that the General has some reason for wanting them alive or he wouldn't bother going through all of this trouble."

"It is of no matter to you, witches. You will not see them after today. Today and forward you belong to Maguya and his people."

"Captain!!"

"Here come big General now. He speak his decision then we take women and go. No more talk!"

--- LaRRy(Arrive10, Arrive11)

What plausible reason would have stayed this execution remains a mystery. Light will be shed shortly no doubt on this timely intervention. Concerns run deep about the fate of the woman folk also. Robin.

Ahhhh, Robin .... the mystery of the last second reprieve will be answered very soon. :wink2:

And yes, the women are in a bad predicament. {sm2}

A little teaser ... ... they are going to be taken to Maguya's village, so we will get to see the large Indian encampment.
However, a terrible fate awaits the fairer sex duo .. unless a hero saves the day .... but who!

Continuation of the Dragoon Saga

A last second reprieve has saved the lives of the 3 rebel Patriots, but at what price?

The only person who knows that answer is on his way to revel the devastating plan that has been concocted. The plan could end the American rebellion and crush the flame of freedom forever under the iron fist of King George III
.

<><><><><><><><>

"Sergeant, gather up some men and escort the prisoners over to the house. Take the women too, but keep them apart."

"Yes, Sir."

"Sergeant, wait."
"On second thought, take the women and the men together in one lot. Keep a close watch, but have the guards keep a distance. Is that understood."

"Understood, Sir, but is that wise, Sir?"

"Are you questioning my wisdom, Sergeant?"

"NO, SIR ... but I only thought ... ummm .. YES, SIR, right away."

"Soon you belong to Maguya and Maguya's people. Then we see if you still a witch."
"Maybe I keep you, maybe I trade you. Do not need witch, but always want good horse or English guns."

--- LaRRy (Arrive12, Arrive13)

"Sergeant ... one more thing, keep that #*%! Indian and his band of ..... woodland creatures away from everyone."

"SIR?"

"Sergeant, please just do as you are told."

"Sorry, Sir, yes, Sir."

"You filthy Godless heathen. If you think for one moment that we will .... "

"MARY! Mary ... there is a time and place for all actions and words. This is not the time nor the place for either of those two."

"Sorry, Sarah, as always you are correct."

--- LaRRy (Arrive14, Arrive15)

"Hartigan, White, Kilroy and Warren. Take the prisoners over to the house."
"They are to be allowed to stay together, but watch them very closely."

"Right away, Sergeant."

"Montgomery and Wemms ... would you be so kind as to keep our <disgusting tone here> .. ummmm .. honored Allies ... away from the prisoners and the women."

"Sir, yes, Sir."

--- LaRRy (Arrive16)

"Praise the Lord, Joseph, you are still with us. For a moment I thought my prayers would go unanswered."

"Yes we are my dear, Sarah, but I can not explain why or what happened."

"It is good to see your face, Mary. I feared that I would not gaze upon it again."

And I yours Kendell. I seem to have lost my faith my dear, but thanks to Sarah I have been restored.

"You do not suppose that it is because Captain Preston knows that ......."

"SAY NOTHING, NOTHING, Elijah."

"He knows nothing, but I fear that the arrival of General Reuss bodes ill tidings. I sense and evil is approaching and we must hold ourselves strong against this darkness. We say no more."

--- LaRRy (Arrive17, Arrival 19)

"Speak of the devil himself. I fear that we will soon understand what the reason of our reprieve might be all about."
"The General .... and it appears the entire British Army ... is entering our farm at this very moment."

"Keep your mouths shut. No one gave you permission to rabble on, QUIET!"

--- LaRRy (Arrive 18)

"Gentlemen, I am at a loss for words on what has just transpired."
"Do either of you posses any additional knowledge or insight that I am missing."

"Surely, not I. Confusion overwhelms me at this moment."

"You may add me to that list."

"I suspect that the answer will be delivered shortly. The General has just arrived."

--- LaRRY (Arrive20, Arrive 21)
