K&C Napoleonic Corner (3 Viewers)

I'm new to the forum but have been reading the postings for a long while now.
This Napoleonics thread is one of the best.

I'm sure K&C Napoleonics collectors must have similar wants lists.
We know K&C read a lot of these posting so lets form some sort of wants list so that we get what we want in future releases.

I've noticed the lack of Napoleonic output from K&C recently in comparison to some of the competition and that could be due to the lack of customer input.
Let's try and put that right.

I would like to see a full RHA limber, horses and riders (in action not standing still posing). I remember this request being put to Andy on one of the Toy Soldiers TV films. I believe the answer was in the negative due to the cost.
Well I have seen lots of WW11 tanks, planes and vehicles being manufactured that cost a lot of money. They sell. So would a full Naps RHA limber team IMO.

I would also like to see the introduction of single or double sets of foot artillery. When sets of three or more are produced there always seems to be one figure that spoils it and they generally come with an unwanted and costly cannon.
I emphasise figures without cannons because there must be lots of us that have cannons (Del Prado and others) just waiting for a gun team or two.
Let the buyer chose which individual figures they want and if they want a cannon or not. I'm sure this would improve sales.
Collectors Showcase produced some good sets of French Artillery in this set format.
K&C could follow that trend or improve upon it.
Anyone agree or disagree?
Cheers
Paul

KC has done individual RHA figs in the past. Would like to see more, especially for the French artillery to expand the battery. Totally agree with your post.

I would love to see a Mounted French Dragoon like this one on the cover of the 2009 K&C Napoleonic Promo Brochure !! :D

Yes that French Dragoon looks fantastic. But in full battle action would be even better IMO.
I love my sets of K&C Cuirassiers, Scots Greys and my Empress Dragoons which are all full of action.
I didn't buy any of the KC Chasseurs purely because they were not in fighting mode.
More charging Dragoons would be great.
And French infantry in muddy old greatcoats (shakos or bearskins not bicorns) marching in a column similar to the Wlm. Britains attack of Hougoumont sets. Some being raked with cannister and musket shot. That would look fantastic.
And why not revisit the 71st highlanders, they sell well on the resell market (ebay). K&C should make a few more 71st wounded/dead figures. Sure winner there.
I could go on all day.........I love this hobby.

Yeah.... what is RHA without limber and horses? A team on the move is fine since RHA is always about mobility.

Great suggestions on the figure sets and without cannons. I have rejected quite a few offerings because of some figure or cannon that I don't need. Let us have the flexibility to pick and choose our arty team :)

Re: Nappy's 11

The figures in the foreground of those books are compelling; I may steal your idea for my personal library/music room. Better to display pieces then box them up waiting for divine inspiration:cool:

But be careful when you take out those books or CDs for a good read or spin... otherwise there may be a lot of tears

Started collecting Napoleonics again after concentrating on the Crimean War..........my latest arrivals.

Hello all I am new to this hobby and would like to know what sets people recommend to start off with. I am still in high school and only have a part time job so I do not have a lot of money.

Welcome fellow Canadian, I would recommend buying what you like! But start with the Scots Greys :D:D:D

Take a look at the French Cuiraissiers. :)

I think they are pre-2009 (same for the Scots Greys), so prices will be increased come Jan 2011. Although this is a consideration, don't rush it. Purchase what you really like.

The Cuiraissiers are half retired .. and a new collector cannot get half a decent charge going. IMO its Better to start with the Greys (only one set retired), the Sgt Evert set being to best ... riding down some French grenadiers of the line.
