K&C Napoleonic Corner (2 Viewers)

More British heavies are a must maybe around Christmas time??. How about a few Picadilly Butchers or Donkey Wallopers in full charge 1st and 2nd Life Guards.

Very best wishes Mark

I thought that any 'digger' or 'grunt' would recognise the UK Slang for Cavalry.....

Diggers only 'recognize' Aussie slang :p

Considering Mark's reference to the 1st & 2nd Life Guards in his post I actually wondered if Donkey Walloper had been attached to a specific British Cavalry regiment rather than the usual generic term.

Slightly off the topic but a game for you guys-
What's the best caption for this pic?
Looks like one of the cav is heading for a short sharp trip to smack-botty land. (Perhaps I should not have had that second glass of Jack)
:)

Napoleonics are also my first love. I have a lot of the Hachette stuff.

I have to show you this- Sold on ebay early in the year in Australia.
The guy who made this, a real gentleman I must say, actually came to my place to install this...

The pics do not do it justice. The guy is a cabinet maker by trade and he scanned images to form the back drops. I marvel at some aspect of it at least every few days...

Now that is impressive. I like it. Looks like you have two units with sixty figures each. The guy should go into business or sell his idea to King & Country/WBritain. Quality displays are hard to come by. I particularily like the back drop with flags for identification. Thanks for posting.

All I can say is WOW !

What a dream of a display - you must be very proud to have that in your collection. How much did it set you back ?

I agree - who ever made that display would get order right away for that wonderful piece - that is just stunning.

Thanks for sharing :D

DJ, what a great display, I think we all look for the ideal way to display our collections and you've got the best I've seen!

Hi DJ,

That's a most worthy cabinet that really showcase your impressive collection very well.

You are getting very good mileage, indeed

Thanks for sharing!

Add me as another huge fan of Napolonics,,,,,,,some photos below of K&C figures from the display we did at the CT Valley Historical Museum in 2009. Also is a photo of some painted figures I did to compliment the display on a shelf that over hung the vignette.

Welcome aboard, and I'm glad to see another Aussie Napoleonic collector in the Forum.

Does the cabinet hold all 120 Del prado? I can see that hafl hold 60 figures, so I guess I'm correct.

I've only got about 7 or 8 Hachette figures, and like most of the other guys, have them posed around the table with Bonaparte.

Hope to see more of your Armee soon,

John

Thanks Guys,

I will take some decent pics of the whole thing. Essentially it's 4 cabinets. Two for the cavalry series, one for the 'Napoleon at War' infantry series. He also made one for the fighting men of the 20th century.
The amazing thing was getting my wife to agree to displaying them. They couldn't fit in the study so they adorn the walls.

Having said that, she actually likes them now as they are so well made.
I have the Marshals series but nowhere to put them.
:(

:(

Please do - not 2, but 4 cabinets!

Awesome
