K&C Retired Super Model Line Up (1 Viewer)

Without having any knowledge about this particular situation (like that ever stops me from commenting :p), could it be this is an "estate sale"? You know, someone selling a collection on behalf of a deceased collector. If so, perhaps they are just trying to maximize the dollar received for the effort made.

If the estate is large enough, the seller (a relative or third party) may not be overly concerned with getting every penny. They may just want a reasonable return for things that hold no value for them personally.

Just a guess on my part. Seems odd they would not reveal the reason for selling such a large collection all at once. If it was financial distress they would likely be more concerned about maximizing price, I would think.

Good point. But I still find it frustrating that it is not being well handled. Not that it's any of my business anyway.

You would think by now he would cancel his auctions and get some help figuring out what he has, what it's worth, and come up with a better selling strategy. Having split sets on different shelves (lots) is really a mess. I find auctions like this really frustrating. It offends my sense of order :D:rolleyes:

Hi Terry,

Well said. I concur.

At least the seller has been honest enough to clearly state in the item description as follows:

"I know nothing about these items and have no clue how to sell these in sets since I don't see any listed sets. If you think Im way off base please email me and let me know. ------------------

------------------ I do not have boxes but each individual item will be packaged well and handled with great care."

It is obvious he needs help, but he should have sought it well before listing.

Best Regards, Raymond.

Maybe he dos'nt care about soldiers like we all do just wants to sell em get what he can with less amount of hassle.I just hope who ever wins them can pick them up,i cant see them get posted/packaged properly and arriving in any sort of descent condition.Would be a great waste if they turned up damaged obviously someone has gone to alot of care/collecting.

And who knows, there could be a hoard of empty K&C boxes stored away somewhere?

Lots of great stuff there but would be concerned as mentioned previously about the shipping and exactly what am I getting. I would also think it would be better to sell off smaller lots or items individually.

Agree with all points. Having entrepreneurial bones in my body, I almost drool at the lost opportunity here. These may still sell and appear to be doing so quite well, but I can only imagine if a knowledegable seller got a piece of this collection. WOW.

What might be interesting is the after sale as collectors who purchase a shelf may not need that's all on there.

Suffice it to say, I've never seen a collection like this being offered on ebay. Usually, you might see something like this go through an auction house. Vectis or Pweiss would make tons of money on this if it was offered correctly.

Well He must have worked out by now that K and C is more popular than Manoil Barclay soldiers.:D

The seller has sent me a link that has better photos of the various items he's selling. Most of the photos, not necessarily in order, are labelled with the set they correspond to on each ebay auction.

The seller has courteously revised his description of Set #8 to note that the TK3 Jagdpanzer has a reglued strip on one side of the hull, allowing bidders to either cancel their bids or get $250 discount from the final bid price.:)

The photos of the Jag in the link point out where the re-gluing is.

He's a very nice guy and appreciative of all the emails that he's received.

Brad,

Thanks for posting the images he sent you.

Yes, he was nice enough to reply to my request for a P&P quote.

Raymond.

Cheers Brad:

Thanks for posting the link as it was very helpful.

All The Best,
Marc

The seller has now listed over 100 K & C boxes for sale as a lot, $500. Seems a little pricey to me but there it is.

Terry

So there was a hoard of K&C boxes stashed away. Good Grief  Split sets all jumbled up and without boxes. Boxes sold separately. How does anyone bid on this dog's breakfast

I wonder what goes on the block next. I have a feeling there is still more to come.

Terry
