This should say if you want to see an example of the tank that I had built for me.

Since King & Country is going to produce the "Kelly's Heroes", there is another classical of WWW II - "The Dirty Dozen" {sm4}

Hey, you can use the same Telly Savalas fig for both. :wink2:

The tanks were M4A3E4's. When the US Army ran short of extra M4A3E8s for overseas military assistance they had Bowen-McLaughlin-York rebuilt some M4A3s with 75mm guns and the late "wet stowage" hull. These received 76mm guns in the older turrets. They served in the Danish, Yugoslavian and a couple other armies. I don't know exactly when they were phased out but they were out of service by the time Yugoslavia broke up. Several are preserved in museums. When you look at the tanks in the movie you can see that the tracks and road wheel rubber was getting very worn and "ratty".

IF K&C were to do this tank, they could also produce the same tank with an unmodified turret for WW2. The late 75mm M4A3s got to Europe in the fall of 1944 and to the Pacific by early 1945 and they served with US forces thru the end of the war.

I know we have gone back and forth on a few threads but your Sherman knowledge is amazing.

Great stuff.

:salute::

The interesting thing about this set is it is a 4 figure set, with a retail price of $159.00 for all 4 figures. Price Rollback ! ^&grin

Been a long time since a four figure sets been released. Harkens back to my original purchases of K&C when that was the norm. Nice sets but standout figure is Donald Sutherland, really looks like him. Not so sure about Clint, Telly etc.

A little story........While visiting that 'Aussie mob' last July and travelling with a few of the Brisbane Boys etc (dodgy-lot):tongue: in 'Jacks' car, I had to confess to all that I hadn't actually seen the Kelly's Heroes movie.{sm2} Well you would have thought I'd drunk all their beer{sm5}, the eruption inside the car was spin-tingling and for a brief moment I thought I was going to be thrown from a moving vehicle, such was their disgust{eek3} I was only saved, when I explained that back in the 70's Kiwi's were still using cave drawings to communicate, lived in grass huts and were forced to battle Orc's most nights!^&grin

Andy! Being that you gave us Kelly's Heroes; Why can you give us the TV (RAT PATROL) Jeeps and Figure's, also will fit in with the SAS WW2 Series! CIAO! :wink2:^&cool

If they do a Sherman, I hope they put the speakers on the turret, as Oddball would say...the music is real loud, scares the hell out of em!!

One of the great things about this series is the potential for so many unique characters and vehicles from the movie.

That's unfair Wayne, I distinctly remember we'd progressed to a wool shed in the 70's, with hay bales as seats and we'd penned all the sheep in the neighbouring stock yard....although the chooks were another story.{eek3}:tongue:
