Just got back a few hours ago from a Collectors Gathering in San Antonio,Texas which was held on 16 March 2012.The theme was to celebrate the introduction of the new K&C Alamo figures just being released. In attendance were Andy C. Neilson, Laura McAlister,The staff at KingsX,and a nice size group of local K&C enthusiasts were present. The highlight of the event was around a dozen or so re-enactors dressed in full Alamo period dress with another group of re-enactors playing live music.
Another great opportunity to chat with Andy and talk Toy Soldiers and the like. A Truly great time was again had by all that were present. At the end of the night the very exclusive figure from the westcoaster show was handed out to collectors. It is the WWII German SS Officer wearing a white summer tunic. Awesome piece !!!!
THANK YOU ANDY ^&grin . The last pic is my haul from the evening shopping . As far as new information regarding new releases, mums the word. It does look like we are in for an exciting year of collecting !!! Cheers ..........

Yes, agreed. I've had the pleasure of talking to Andy at many of these events. He has a real passion. You should try to come to Chicago in September.

I will be going to chicago next year hopefully. I attent all the shows in nj and pennsylvania now. Never ran into Andy at any of them. And there are no reeanactors dressed up at any of them.

Nice atmosphere, seems like you all had a lot of fun, Panzerace1944! Thanks for sharing this good time in San Antonio with all of us who couldn't be there. If you want to share a little bit of what Andy said about what's incoming this year - and I have no doubts it will be a GREAT year for collecting - I'm all ears!!! ^&grin

Thanks guys to those who replied.Could not resist posting this event.Keeps the forum interesting and fun ! Was a well done gathering to say the least....^&grin

Mitch, Nothing really to LOL about. The last info I let the forum know was there would be several Russian armored vehicles done with about 6 or so Infantry. 3 different T-34's and the Russian figures coming out equates to exactly that. Production set backs with any other product mentioned does not equal bad info. Andy had mentioned a few things to me and asked to keep it to myself, as I will respect and do. Surely a polished chap as yourself can understand that without making any unecessary comments. Like the old saying goes.....If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.

Your overlooking the mocking that you recieved about the stuka and the info that you said came from andy which, rightly or wrongly was corrected by andy himself. If I had a pound for everyone who says andy told me this keep it quiet I would own a company myself. There seems little trade secrets about what is being released or looked at just some will do exactly that keep it to themselves and, not leave cryptic clues that make them seem to be in the know.

If I am honest I don't think this was a bad thing to say, its the truth, as Jack said, ''some can't handle the truth'' Its open forum, been posted, and I just mentioned it. Saves you from getting hot under the collar like the last time defending what you said andy had told you by keeping mum. At least I say my piece openly and for everyone to read rather than surry around saying it in PM.

Mitch, I know something you don't know. I know something you don't know. Not really but I don't think that Andy would tell someone he runs into a couple of times a year his company's secrets when he has to keep them mum because of his competition. I think that Andy was "kicking the tires" to get some feedback on some ideas and to give an event like that an "exclusive" feel. He wouldn't tell customers anything he wouldn't want made public. Andy is like a snake charmer to dedicated collectors.

CM...

Exactly my point and why he has been in the business so long. He knows how to play an audience and make them feel special. No more no less. I wonder what you know, if you tell me I will tell you what I know!!! But, you must go first!!!

Forum members, do not hesitate to criticize your favorite TS maker(s) if they make a bad product or make something you don't agree with or anything. That's what a forum is for. It does not mean you are not a loyal customer or a traitor. I'm sure your TS maker will not take away any discounts they give you!!! For the prices they charge and the money you spend, you have this right! They need to know what to improve. Not everything should have a rah rah reaction. I think so far there is about 4 or so members that tell it like it is.and I respect them for it.

I'm not sure why you would doubt that Andy would tell PA some things and keep them to himself as he is a devoted customer and fan. Andy has done that with others and I don't see anything wrong with it. Moreover, is it a crime or wrong to make a devoted follower feel special. We all like to think that someone values what we have to say.

No problem that PA keeps the top secret intel to himself. Andy is a businessman 1st. Andy is good at making people feel special,he's a salesman. He does value what we say, he knows how way off the mark we all are
