King & Country Museum Under Construction (1 Viewer)

Louis-I think you should have installed a live web-cam for the project! Kind of feels like HG TV! The Epic Adventure-A MAN & HIS MUSEUM! I love it.

I have a curio from bombay I bought back in 2001 - it is close to what you have with a light inside and full wood top.

I will be interested to see how much light comes in with the glass top. Are you going to put in lights?

Ron

I have the same Bombay Curio with the wood top and interior lights - my wife stole it for her china and collectibles, and it presently resides in my living room. I don''t know if I am going to need interior lights yet. I thoroughly lit the room with recessed lights angled to light the cabinets, as well as two additional fixtures, each with three overhead spot lights, which can be positioned to illuminate anywhere in the room. If, however, I need more, I will install it.

I will interested if you do install lights - I have a lighting problem with one of my large curio's - the light cannot come through the grassland mat I laid on one of my shelves.

I have the same problem with too many items on shelves in a couple of my cabinets. I have been searching the web, unsuccessfully, to find interior bookcase or curio cabinet lighting that can be attached to the third shelf. The cabinets have halogen lights in the top, but too many vehicles blocks the light so that the bottom shelves are dark.

Has anyone got a suggestion how to solve this problem by installing lights under the glass shelves? I am not talking about track lighting outside the cabinet. I am talking about lighting inside the cabinet. Web sites? And how do the lights attach to the bottom of glass shelves:confused:

I will post this under a new thread so not to distract from Louis' project (the real reason for this particular thread).

Here is a shot of the rear of the room, with the "fresh butter" paint on the wall, as well as some of the tapestry upholstered onto the rear banquette.

Here's a shot of the front banquette, with the upholstery and fresh butter paint. The glossy white paint for the trim should be finished tomorrow.

The painters are almost done with the trim. If they finish tonight, I will e-mail brad some photos of the completed paint job to post. By Thursday I will be posting some shots of the completed (but not yet loaded) project!

Looks like one more day of painting. It is almost done, but they need to finish up a second coat on the trim. Then Thursday, the carpet goes in, and construction is complete.

The painting is done! The guys are cleaning up as I draft this. As soon as they are out of there, I will take and send photos to Brad to be posted. It really came nice, I am very pleased. I can't wait for the paint to dry so the upholstered seats can be carried up and put in place. The carpeting goes down tomorrow, and its finished!

I just e-mailed Brad 5 photos of the museum with painting completed. The carpeting goes in tomorrow, one once that's done, the project is done and ready to load with toy soldiers.

Painting is now complete. Here's a shot of the office.
