King & Country Museum Under Construction (5 Viewers)

Again I worked until after midnight. I carried up and assembled the tables, carried up and set out the last three dioramas, and put out all but about the last 20 sets of K&C. I will definitely finish installing the collection tonight, and then send Brad some photos to post.

Congatulations on a wonderful display area, sorry I can't be there this year but all the very best. Also to Hans and Larry.

Thanks Panda,

We'll miss you, and hope you can make it next year! You are always welcome my friend.

My collection is fully installed in the museum. I just send Brad 17 photographs of the museum with my collection to post. I only have to finish hanging the decorations and the museum is ready to go.

Here are the photos Louis sent me. I will ask him to provide the descriptions. Didn't see my favorites, though, the bands.

Awesome job Louis. I'd like to see the museum someday. Until then, enjoy it each and everyday.

Carlos

Well Louis,

Its amazing and I am really in awe of the depth of your collection. I look forward to more photos.

All the best!

Dave

WOW - Very impressive, I really liked that Bar!

Oh the Toy Soldiers are great too..............................:D

Fantastic Louis,a first class job.You do realise when i pass away my ghost is going to come live in the upper reaches of your house!

Rob

Brad,

The bands are all depicted in the photo with the shelves on which the Roman Fort and Zulu Farm House are the top two levels. The bands are set out on the bottom two levels.

I just want to point out that the bush hat, Vietnam patches, and SOG Coins depicted on the photos of the bar with the Globe bar and Vietnam firebase diorama were kindly donated to the cause by our good friend Chuck Harris. The flag holder displays a flag which flew over a firebase in Afghanistan, donated to the museum by our good friend Ed (Halomeeps), a Green Beret. His Afghanistan special forces coin is depicted with the Iraq/Afghanistan Special Forces stuff on the rear platform.

Hope you don't mind me asking this Louis, but with such a rare, unique massive collection as yours was it difficult getting insurance on it?.I mean loads of items in your collection must be impossible to replace surely.?

Rob

My home is insured with Chubb, an excellent company. I just contacted my agent, told him about the bredth of my collection and constantly increasing prices in the secondary market, supported this with an appraisal from Andy, and he got me what they refer to as "fine arts and antiques" insurance for the present value of the collection.

Right i see, very wise indeed.Nice to get an appraisal from the top man!

Rob

Fantastic looking display and rooms! Makes me want to refinish my basement and get my figures out of boxes. I like the dispaly cabinets, especially the little ones, they highlight individual tanks well.

That big castle on the middle table, is that K&C?

Yes, that is the Saracen Castle Andy brought to the 2006 Chicago Show, which I immediately purchased the minute he opened the box in his room. All of the diorama materials on display in the museum are K&C, some mass produced, others custom designed and produced by Andy and Gordon.

Louis

That collection is a work of art dude. You should be proud and thanks for sharing it on the forum

Take Care
