Thanks all.

It's nice to give David Marshall's Russian farm house a groundwork refresh. Originally David had created 5 additional 24" tiles which were nothing more than flat with a bit of static grass and a simple road. Not having to worry about shipping, weight, etc. allowed us to take the things we learned making groundwork over the last few years to do the house tile justice. In addition the house tile can still be popped out of the groundwork and used independently (e.g. background in other scenes etc.). If anyone is curious the sheep are WBritain. I have a wagon, some oxen, and farm tools on order.

Next up, I'll try another background with some Stalingrad vehicles.

These are consistently great works. It is wonderful to see the farm getting a fresh look. Unpopular opinion, but I would ditch the animals. First, they would long be stolen and eaten, second, the noise of the tank would have scared them and they would have skedaddled and artistically, they indicate a serene peacefulness that contradicts the theme. They give a manger feel. Lastly, it has now created a “Where is Waldo effect?” effect. But it is always good to try something new. I think dead animal carrion near the road would probably more fitting.

Nah, don't ditch them, though all you say is true. Use some string and tie a rope around them securing them to the fence implying they will later be eaten. 😁

All good points, but still fun. Dead animals would definitely be useful.
