Those are kind of neat Martyn. Was that the only time Trophy issued special sets for the WC'er. I've seen them on ebay and I recall their either not selling or selling for very little.

Martyn: I have a single figure that Len did for the Forbes collection auction. It is a Union Sgt. with dark blue tunic and light blue trousers carrying a white and light blue flag that says "Forbes Christie's MCMXCVII. Next time you visit with Len, please ask him if he did any others. Thanks.

Hi Brad

I'm not sure how many Trophy made, you are right about the value, more novelty than monetary;)

Cheers

Martyn,
I will have to check how many I have, I know I have at least 5 plus. 96, 98, 2000, 2001 and another (probably 2006). I am not sure if made for every year or not, that is a great question. Now I have to go look.

As for value, 2000 cost a bit to get, the others not so bad, but I sold some duplicates for about $35/figure, so not too bad.

Tom

Very nice Al, but there should be 5 figures to make up the set

Here are some pictures of the standing figures from the “Unloading the Supplies” sets I own. You appear to be missing the Pvt. having a drink, I will sort out a picture of this figure and post it later.

Hi Brian,

Congratulations on the new additions to your Trophy AZW collection.

I see a figure tactical at the rear rank of the 24th standing reload .:D

Enjoy, Raymond.:)

Brian,
A screwgun set and Front rank Reload?!! Wonderful finds, good job!

Just general questions, are the scenic bases from the Dragon Quest reissues and do most of the serious Trophy collectors even care? Do the original rectangle based sets have more standing with you? Are the older sets more valuable? I used to collect Trophy and so I am asking as a friend of the collecting family...:)Michael

Hi Michael

The terrain bases were not just a feature of the later Dragon Crest range as they started to appear on Trophy sets from the mid 1990’s. Trophy didn’t restrict their various ranges to a certain number of releases such as K&C, for instance the AZW range, that I love, had terrain bases added to certain older sets from the mid 1990’s, all the new sets then had the new style bases.

I love the old style and the new style, you also have to remember that the very early Trophy bases were round, then came the rectangular and last of all the terrain.

I don’t think the style of base affects the value, because of the lack of any new Trophy sets appearing the value of the older sets continues to rise no matter what the type of base is.

Hope this helps

Cheers

Martyn:)
