Martyn,

I think it would be cool to have a series showing Anglos getting used to their mounts and pack camels, with the resultant spitting and bucking. I should probably post this idea on the Beau Geste forum, though.

Dave

Great ideas Dave, but unfortunately too late for Trophy:(

Martyn,
I'm very envious.
I've been looking for the Officer in a blue jacket for what seems like years.
Congratulations.
My guys will have to carry on leadership for a while longer!!;)

Set#SS55 - THE NAVAL BRIGADE - Rating mounted on walking Camel

Hi Martyn,

Thanks for posting the mounted trooper.

This is my favourite version of Trophy's Camel Corps sets.

Cheers, Raymond.:)

Martyn, if it's more then 100 I would like to see the whole "herd" on one picture:D
BTW I think the best camel figures were made by RED BOX (Dennis Johnson) company, they are hard to find but I have managed to capture two recently... I will post picture so you could compare them with Trophys.

Hi Tommy,

You made my day.....thanks !!

I thought the elongated oval bases were Dragon Crest.....I may be wrong.

Raymond.:)
Raymond: You are correct. Martyn's figures seem more massive but the camels look the same.

You're right Raymond the "terrain bases" are Dragon Crest, the sets are the same apart from that

Nice "Herd" Tommy, mine isn't quite that large, I think it was hit by rustlers:D

Here is a picture from the "Sudan Campaigns 1880 – 1898" thread

Hi Folks,Sorry to cut in to your lusting after camels !! I was recently sent some Trophy unpainted castings purchased on E.BAY my friend was concerned that they were genuine, they turned out to be genuine castings. This reveals a problem, recent sales of unpainted castings had caused me some concern,it was a srtict company policy not to sell unpainted castings.Over the years this rule had been bent a little for long time customers and some employes. But certain casting to come on to the market recently could only been misappropriated from the factory.I am informed that the stocks have now dried up,but it leaves me with the troibling thought of who took them from the factory. As you know I am retired this last four years, but I still feel a sense of betrayal. When I see the prices that some Trophy figures are fetching I feel a little like Van Goch ,at least I sold more than he did,and NO I dont have a loft full of figures ,just an average collection of things that appealed and other makers work tha I admire.Regards Len
