No problem, but it will cost you at the London Show
;):p

The British Officer

9TH LANCERS
Set#A.26----------- Officer standing with drawn pistol

The next two Indian soldiers are
45TH RATTRAYS SIKHS
Set#A.33--------------Sepoy in winter dress lunging with rifle and bayonet

Next three are
44TH MERWARA INFANTRY
Set#IA.18--------Indian Officer advancing with drawn pistol
Set#IA.20--------Sepoys advancing with rifle and bayonet

Next single figure
3RD BENGAL CAVALRY
Set#A.31-------------Sowar wearing turban and winter dress and standing firing carbine

Cheers

Martyn:)

Thank you, Martyn it was quick !
Have you found them in early catalog you were taking about? How does the numbering system work? Set#A.26----------- Officer standing with drawn pistol ... does it mean that only one figure was in the set?

Could you do your "id-magik" on Afgans as well, please....

The London show? sure ...but c'mon I think that you guys cleaned it up pretty well already :p:D I will be lucky to find just a few civilian figures there :)

Sure thing, but these are all Pathan/Afghans, no Dervish

Top row, left to right, set#s

A.43
A.45
A.47
A.53

Bottom row, left to right, set#s

A.56 x2
A.49B
Last figure is a tricky one, looks like a very early Afghan chieftain from TD8 holding a telescope instead of binoculars

All the A prefix sets were available as single figures, no boxes

All the info found in the “worth their weight in gold” very early catalogues:D

Cheers

Actually, Martyn, the third set of three soldiers with the yellow flash on their turbans belong to the 1st Sikhs in the Boxer Rebellion series; BS15, BS16, or BS16A. Notice the slate grey bases.

Thanks Dave, my catalogues, in the main, are pictureless and I'm going by written descriptions

Cheers

No problem, Martyn. I just want to see my beloved Boxer series get the lovin' they deserve. I'm sure they'd be the Merwara Infantry if the bases were painted green.

Hi martyn, thanks for clarifying that the afghan figures i have kneeling and firing on the long skinny bases are trophy. As for the 3 indians with grey bases , i have a couple sets of indians on grey bases and still do not know for sure what is boxer and what isn't. Too many variations
