Hi Firebat,

The childish discussion Scott is referring to is not about Toy Soldier issues but rather folks attacking one another over grammar and other issues. Please feel free to discuss any issues you have with a product.

Dave

Cheers Dave,

Hit the nail on the head.

The key word is issues, spewing hatred is not an issue, except for the person spewing it.

Well said Dave but let see if people take it on board :rolleyes2:

Well said Scott, bit of banter back and forth, but point taken.

Bet mine was bigger than yours mate!^&grin:wink2:

Its not childish at all Alex, however some may not want it repeated over and over in a thread they have started in which they are celebrating the product. I think the salient point is make the point, move on and let others enjoy their product .

Rob

The other side of the coin Rob is some people on here don't like be told something wrong with a KC item when it a fact and then come out with childish post . The forum for everyone opinion and people should respect that

New member here. I have been reviewing this section as I have recently been drawn in on King and Country soldiers by cataloging my fathers collection that passed earlier this year. The new Cavalry figures and Indians are recent purchases for me and I think they are well, breath taking. On the other hand I do see the point on historical accuracy as being very important. Then in the case of these Cavalry soldiers if they did not have the suspenders and flamboyant scarfs etc, that they did not really have other then maybe Custer, I do not think I would like them as much. I guess there has to be give and take on what each person can go over with on accuracy.
It seems to me this section has been inundated with locked, moved and removed posts and threads, member leaving, due to such disagreements. I personally think everyone is entitled to equal say and equal air time. Just keep it above the belt. Just a few thoughts, Mike.

Wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy off topic here, however..........

Reading that you were drawn to collecting K&C (or toy soldiers for that matter) because of your father and his passing is one of the most moving things I have read in quite some time. While the forum has a few issues, reading this reminded me what makes it worth being a part of.

As I have said in other threads welcome to the party and I look forward to more of your posts.

The same works both ways Neil. It is one thing to say it but quite another to keep repeating it. Again, I refer to Jack's excellent post that I quoted earlier. Once expressed what good does it to keep repeating it. In a way it reminds me of the definition of insanity: saying the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

I stand corrected.......And I also stand for not spending my hard earned money on sometimes inaccurate, erratically scaled, non proportioned EXPENSIVE MILITARY REPLICAS.

The only thing that is not fair about this discussion is it should be moved to another area of the forum, all of the manufacturers are guilty. Alex

Most of us buy the figures because we like them, regardless of % of accuracy (Flyboy's post about the scarves is a good example). Most of us don't care if someone else doesn't. But we do care when the same old tired criticisms are rolled out. That's what this thread has been about. I've barely voiced my concerns before, it's come rushing out here because the opportunity has arisen and I've had enough of the repetitive negativity. Jack's post summed it up very well.

Don't let a few comments about written expression cloud the issue.

Well said Brad - If I'd seen your post before I'd written mine, I would've left it with you.

The reason why it not in the general toy soldier thread is everyone one could post but leave it in KC thread some member can't post as there blocked from doing so:wink2::salute::

Guys,
I think you all need to take, like I did, a good piece of advice from Dave (the mod) and use the ignore feature. After many years on this Forum listing to repetitive negative nellies, I now have two of my favourite nellies on my ignore list and I am enjoying my Forum reading with a new lease of life.:smile2: This is a great feature of this Forum and I wish I had used it many years ago.
Cheers Howard

Polystone is not at an end. The Stormtroopers are busy extracting protein to make the current Soylent Red Polystone, soon to be replaced by the lighter, stronger Soylent Green Polystone.

Terry

.....and Terry don't forget the glue, that has now been successfully extracted from the 'flogged horse'....^&grin:wink2:

If that's how you feel about K&C Neil, may I ask why you feel the need to post here??^&confuse

Agreed. But I have to say it again I'm not sure what recent posts have triggered this response level on this thread. Did I miss something? The OP mentioned the color of an Opel...haven't seen that discussion. But color will be discussed/confused/argued about for eternity. That's OK. It really is a complicated issue. Going on a tangent: A few years ago on a forum dedicated to the Tarawa battle, the CO of the tank battalion (still alive) was asked what color the tanks were painted. He replied with confidence 'Marine Corps Green, as was all other USMC equipment throughout the Pacific War'. The modeler went back to his modeling forum where he was met with disdain & skepticism chiefly because the High Priest (a well known author & self appointed expert on such things) disagreed (he had always maintained in all his books that MC Green was a postwar invention, which was later found to be wrong; at least going back to 1934). But I have yet to see anyone paint a MC tank in MC Green.

Let me remind all how far we've come in the past few years. I recall a much harsher & partisan Treefrog...do any of you remember the daggers coming out when New Model Army released the SdKfz 231? Or when First Legion went Afrika Korps? I haven't seen anything remotely like that in recent times...though I admit I don't scour this forum as often as many of you, and I may be missing some deleted threads/posts...but I don't think so. I do think I would be detecting the odor if it were still going on. I think this is a good group. If I'm off base, send me a PM & bring me up to speed.

Welcome Flyboy, sorry to hear about Dad. But he had a great hobby to hand down.

Good idea about adding member to the ignore list Howard :salute::

What a joke this is,this isn't a dinkum thread is it.
People take the time and effort to post a dio and get a dozen may be replys and a few likes,
you start a thread with a title out of the playground and you get 116 replys and 4113 views............^&confuse
Unreal.........................^&grin

Exactly my point Neil, people should show respect for both views. If you see something you don't like you should speak up and say so that is our hard won freedom of speech. If you then see someone has started their own thread on the same item in which they are celebrating the same product then maybe folk should not join in and put it down over and over again. As you say Neil its about everyone being treated with respect.:smile2:

I do agree with this very much. There were some very unpleasant posts when FL made the scene back in the day, lots of ill feeling on both sides, but that has almost totally gone now which is great to see.
